DNV is excited to announce the official kick-off of the Joint Industry Project (JIP) Ground Investigation for Floating Wind (GIFT), an ambitious initiative aimed at revolutionizing ground characterization for offshore wind turbine developments. With the growing need for reliable, certifiable, and installable anchoring designs for floating wind turbines and seabed cable developments, DNV has identified a gap in guidance for ground investigations. This JIP will collaborate with over 15 industry partners, including academic institutions and regulatory bodies, to develop a comprehensive recommended practice for improving ground investigations and enabling safer and more efficient designs.
