Awareness 360 Fellow Laily Akter’s from Khulna, Bangladesh 🇧🇩 led the “Wash Talk: Clean Hands for Better Life"project, a vital initiative aimed at raising awareness about the importance of proper hand hygiene. Recognizing that clean hands are crucial for preventing the spread of infectious diseases, this project educated the local community on the significance of regular handwashing with soap and clean water. Through workshops, the distribution of hygiene kits, and the installation of handwashing facilities, Laily's project not only promoted good health practices but also laid the foundation for a healthier, more informed society. Awareness 360 Fellow Sara Ahmed Abdo Hassan from Sana'a, Yemen, initiated a transformative project focusing on Waste Management to promote Good Health and Well-being, Clean Water and Sanitation, and Sustainable Communities. Over a month and ten days, Sara led a team of volunteers to raise awareness about the dangers of improper waste disposal. From engaging discussions at the British Board Center to distributing brochures in local neighborhoods and summer institutes, the project reached between 1,000 to 2,000 people. Despite challenges like cultural barriers and limited resources, Sara's determination led to a positive impact, with community members eagerly adopting waste management practices. Her efforts were fueled by a personal encounter with an elderly woman who shared how her family was affected by malaria due to poor waste management, inspiring Sara to continue her mission with even greater passion. #Awareness360 #WasteManagement #SustainableCommunities #YouthEmpowerment #ClimateAction
