When FORVIA Faurecia ASEAN Group Vice President Florent Herson moved from Europe to Thailand in 2011, his single-minded mission was to build a team from scratch in order to supply parts to Ford’s new launch within six months flat. Moreover, his experience as a competitive sailor has given him structure on how to achieve business objectives. “You must be agile and reactive to grow, you must be fast and seize opportunities.”
He seized another opportunity again in 2018 when he built a team of 13 nationalities to mass produce interiors for the launch of VinFast group’s first two car models. Not only did the team complete production in less than 18 months ─ a speed unchallenged by any other car supplier in the world ─ it also boosted his team spirit of YES WE CAN and resulted in the establishment of the first Faurecia subsidiary in Vietnam in 2019. These two chess moves and many others prompted revenue growth and market expansion for his company.

Home to more than 90 attractions across six adventure zones, Sunway Lagoon Sdn Bhd (SLSB) is regarded as Malaysia’s premier multi-park destination. Established in 1991 in Malaysia, this world-class theme park boasts attractions such as the World’s First 5D Waterplexx, World’s Largest Man-Made Surf Pool, Malaysia’s First Interactive Zoo, and FlowRider– which is Malaysia’s First Surf Simulator.
SLSB’s Theme Park has been ISO 45001:2018 certified and they aim for all business divisions, where relevant, to be certified by 2030 to promote staff safety, reduce workplace risks and ensure better and safer working conditions.
SLSB invests in the communities in which they operate and aim to create long-term value to enrich their livelihoods. This step involved a materiality study, community engagement through social activities and #SunwayforGood initiatives. A big focus in this area is where they cultivate entrepreneurial skills among the underprivileged to enable them to be financially independent.
The Group also organizes the Sunway Job Training Program annually in collaboration with Generating Opportunities for the Learning Disabled (GOLD) and selected schools which involves learning disabled students continuing with their special learning classes and undergoing apprenticeships at Sunway Lagoon Theme Park during the training period.
