Last week, BioLoop signed an MOU with Yenher Holdings Bhd to collaborate on revolutionising organic waste management and sustainable #blacksoldierfly insect protein production. This represents a significant milestone for the Malaysian BSF industry as it shows that large corporates within the local animal feed ingredients sector are serious about using sustainable alternative proteins. Many thanks to Cradle Fund for hosting our MOU exchange ceremony and YB Chang Lih Kang, Minister of the Malaysian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) and Mohd Nor Azman Hassan, Deputy Secretary General of MOSTI for witnessing the ceremony.

Yenher Holdings - Turning waste to wealth Yenher Holdings has taken an ambitious move towards sustainability by signing a MOU with BioLoop to establish Yenbio, a joint venture aimed at producing Black Soldier Fly (BSF) products. As an ESG analyst, it’s encouraging to see homegrown Malaysian companies like Yenher and Bioloop working together to address critical environmental challenges. This venture not only provides a sustainable waste management solution but also contributes meaningfully to the circular economy, where waste is transformed into valuable resources. For Yenher, this represents a dual opportunity: first, entering the fast-growing sustainable waste management space, which plays a pivotal role in reducing emissions; and second, vertically integrating its supply chain by producing its own raw materials in-house.  Beyond internal use, BSF products have strong external demand as BSF fertilizers are highly sought after in the agriculture sector as a sustainable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional fertilizers.
