At the Swiss Cyber Security Days, we had the pleasure of welcoming SRF - Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen to our booth for a feature on 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙬𝙚𝙞𝙯 𝘼𝙠𝙩𝙪𝙚𝙡𝙡. Their visit was a great opportunity to highlight the importance of raising awareness of cybersecurity across society. Educating people on cyber risks and promoting the responsible use of the internet is essential to reducing threats and creating a safer digital environment for everyone—especially for children. A huge thank you to SRF - Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen and @𝗦𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻 for their insightful report and for shedding light on this crucial topic. We are also deeply grateful to Kinderschutz Schweiz and @𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱-𝗛𝘂𝗴 for their invaluable support in protecting the most vulnerable members of our society. 📺 Watch the full feature here (starting at 8:10): https://lnkd.in/eUz6-HPS

Our latest research has uncovered 2.5 million potential vulnerabilities across Switzerland’s digital space—45% of them high or critical risk. Outdated software, exposed databases, and weak security controls are leaving organisations wide open to cyberattacks. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙠𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡. Analysis of the Swiss Cyberspace 2025: our research covers 27 million IPv4 addresses and 3.4 million domains in the Swiss cyberspace. Some key findings as of Jan 2025 include: a) Switzerland has 2.5 million potential vulnerabilities across its public attack surface (based on metadata or the version number of the software), of which 373,686 are classified as critical and 764,190 are classified as high (critical vulnerabilities are those with a CVSS score of 9.0-10.0, high vulnerabilities those with a CVSS score of 7.0-8.9). b) The top 20 vulnerabilities include outdated software versions of OpenSSH, Apache, Microsoft and others. c) 34% of active domains are within the Swiss IP space, only 12% of servers for active domains are within the Swiss IP space, and only around 6.3% of DNS servers in the Swiss cyberspace are within its IP space. d) Only 7% of mail exchange servers are in the Swiss cyberspace (they provide over 50% of domains with mail services). e) 1.4 million open ports were detected, and 0.3 million IPs use plaintext protocols. f) Around 33% of the databases are potentially vulnerable hosts with a database; around 118,199 exposed Remote Administration Interfaces (RAI) were detected. g) A special section on quantum readiness together with IBM Research unveiled that 85% of the sampled websites could offer Q-safe communication, but only 11% offer protection against quantum “harvest now, decrypt later” attacks, and 0% support measures against quantum "man (person)-in-the-middle” attacks. In conclusion: from the viewpoint of aspirational digital sovereignty, Switzerland's public attack surface requires political debates, awareness in both society and in businesses, legal frameworks, as well as urgent organisational and technical measures to protect the digital value chains.
