Crafting a standout resume and acing an interview isn’t a Mission Impossible. 🚀 Last Friday, we hosted a Secret Agent-themed resume and interview tips workshop at Universiti, and we were incredibly impressed by the creativity of the committee in designing such an engaging theme! 🕵️♂️ Crafting a resume and preparing for interviews quickly became the students’ top mission. 💼 During the session, we conducted mock interviews with students, providing on-the-spot feedback and advice. 📌 One standout question from the session: “Is it rude to ask the interviewer why the last person left this role?” ✨ Our advice: Instead of directly asking why someone left, rephrase the question to sound more professional and insightful: 👉 “Is this role a backfill or a new headcount? If it’s a backfill, could you share what led to the change? And what would be your expectations for the new person?” This approach shows genuine curiosity while remaining tactful. Plus, it provides a glimpse into the company culture and the dynamics of the role. 💡 Key takeaway: Interviews aren’t just about answering questions—they’re also an opportunity for you to assess whether the role aligns with your career goals. Thoughtful questions like these show you’re proactive and engaged. To all the students who participated—thank you for your enthusiasm and openness to learn!
