    *Smart City Expo & World Conference (SCEWC) 5-7 Nov 2024 Barcelona* This yearly event participated by more than 130 countries showcasing latest technology smart cities solutions and product. The Malaysian pavilion was participated by TM One, TM R&D, Perbadanan Putrajaya, DBKL, MPAJ, MSCA and industry players. MDEC as the coordinator and lead by the Minister YB Gobin Singh from Ministry of Digital participated in various panel sessions. MIGHT play a leading role to connect Spanish companies, Universities and Government bodies to explore potential collaborations. A pre-council dinner and business forum headed by YB Govind for Malaysian companies to network with Spain companies & investors. YB Govind annouced World Smart City Expo Asia edition will be in KL Sept 2025. Site visits to University Autonoma Barcelona and Barcelona TMB Control Centre was held on the 4th day. Collaborations area with University has been identified for follow through. Various technology smart city solutions like smart pole, smart traffic lights, City monitoring solutions & etc has been benchmarked for ITIC project.

  • The 2nd Meeting of the National Science Council (NSC) for 2024 took place at the Parliament. The NSC was established with the approval of the Cabinet and acts as the highest committee at the national level for the governance of Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) in the country. It is chaired by YAB Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the Prime Minister of Malaysia. YBhg Prof Emeritus Tan Sri Dr Zakri, the Joint Chair (Government) and a member of NSC, attended the meeting. Among the matters discussed were:  i) Empowering the NSC to lead and monitor the strengthening of the National STIE (Science, Technology, Innovation, and Economy) Ecosystem. ii) Technology Regulatory Mechanism under the National Technology and Innovation Sandbox (NTIS) - a 'Top-Down' Approach.   iii) The National Planetary Health Action Plan. #MIGHTMalaysia  #togetherwemakeithappen  #mosti  #Betterfutures

  • The Korea Development Institute (KDI) and Global Knowledge Exchange and Development Centre (GKEDC) recently hosted a capacity-building workshop focused on sustainable smart cities from October 27th to November 1st, 2024. The event included Capacity-Building Workshops, Knowledge Sharing Programmes, Project Concept Proposal Seminars, Knowledge Exchange Days conference and exhibition, site visits, and business interactions. Government officials and experts from partner countries, including Malaysia, Philippines, Cambodia, Indonesia, Hungary, and Saudi Arabia, attended. MIGHT led discussions and presentations on two proposals to strengthen policy and institutional capacities for development and economic cooperation.   • We’re thrilled to announce the Aerial Robotic Competition (myNARC) 2024! Hosted by Aeronerve Institute with support from the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT), this exciting event will take place at the Kuala Lumpur Engineering Science Fair (KLESF) from 8-10 November 2024. The competition challenges participants to go beyond basic drone assembly and configuration. Teams are tasked with creatively modifying their UAVs to carry payloads and implementing advanced programming for precise, autonomous operations. Skills in object recognition, navigation, and obstacle avoidance will be fully displayed, highlighting the depth of control and autonomy required for real-world applications. Limited to the first 20 teams, this competition promises to be impactful and engaging.
