MPRC is honoured to be part of the 2nd PETRONAS OGSE Industry Roundtable (ORT) that brought together representatives from the industry, MOGSC, MOSVA, MOGEC and MOCA to discuss key structural and strategic issues in the OGSE sector.✍️ This joint industry initiative which began at the PETRONAS OGSE Partners Day (OPD) in 2023, has evolved into a collaborative platform supported by key stakeholders. About one-third of the identified pain points have been addressed and resolved. Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation (MPRC) would like to draw attention to a press release issued by RimbaWatch (Kuala Lumpur), which referred to Malaysia’s delegate list to the Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC UN Climate Change COP29 COP29 Azerbaijan), purportedly published by the UNFCCC. The list erroneously identified an MPRC employee as among the Malaysian delegates from fossil fuel companies who attended COP29. RimbaWatch’s press release was also responded to by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), which duplicated the erroneous naming of MPRC as among the companies which sent delegates to COP29. MPRC would like to clarify unequivocally that we did not send any delegates to COP29. We would also like to clarify that we are an agency of the Ministry of Economy Kementerian Ekonomi primarily tasked with developing the oil & gas services and equipment (OGSE) sector, and not a fossil fuel company as categorised in the delegate list.

We're thrilled to announce that MPRC OGSE Technology Network (OGTEN) is taking a significant step forward by initiating the pilot of Joint Industry Project (JIP) proposition! 🚀🌟 The pitching sessions comprised of presentations from two potential pilot JIP candidates from UTP with Transwater, and UTM. The 10-minute pitching sessions requires the prospective candidates encompass the six main criterias for evaluation by the OGTEN Working Group (OGTEN WG), which comprises of ministries such as MOGSC, PETRONAS, MRANTI, MOGSC, and SIRIM. Aligned with the National OGSE Industry Blueprint 2021-2030 (OGSE Blueprint) initiatives, OGTEN aims to facilitate R&D progress in technology adoption towards commercialisation by bridging collaboration between OGSE companies and academia. As part of OGTEN's efforts, the JIP aims to accelerate the commercialisation of innovative technologies that will benefit the Oil & Gas sector and assisting in the advancement of proven technology for adoption by the industry especially in addressing pain points.
