We’re excited to share our project contribution to the newly built 𝗚𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗸 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 (𝗚𝗜𝗧𝗧), Kuala Lumpur’s latest transport hub for Eastbound and Klang Valley buses. Strategically located near MRR2, Karak Highway, and the upcoming ECRL, GITT will play a key role in improving regional connectivity. To ensure maximum fire safety, our 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗧®-𝗦𝗖𝟯 water-based intumescent coating was applied to the 𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗽’𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗹, providing a 𝟮-𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. This critical fire protection safeguards the terminal’s structure, meeting stringent safety standards. These routes are critical for allowing occupants to evacuate safely and enabling firefighters to perform rescues effectively. To achieve this, evacuation paths must be enclosed within fire-resistant constructions that maintain integrity and insulation, keeping fire and smoke at bay long enough for a safe exit. In complex or multi-story buildings, escape routes require enhanced fire resistance to accommodate slower evacuations, particularly for vulnerable occupants. 🔥 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 🔥 Understanding fire resistance standards is critical for assessing how building elements perform under fire conditions. These tests simulate real-life scenarios by exposing elements to controlled heat and pressure, replicating the environment of a fire in an enclosed space. Rather than evaluating individual materials, fire resistance testing assesses the performance of the entire system. While the British Standards (BS 476: Parts 20-24) have long been a reference point, the European Norms (EN 1363-1366) are becoming the new standard. These introduce classifications like R, E, or I, along with time-based performance indices for fire separation and smoke tightness.
