When tragedy struck during the COVID-19 pandemic, Rejina Rahim faced a harsh reality. ⬇️ After losing her only sister, she was burdened with the overwhelming task of handling financial and legal affairs amidst grief. “There has to be an easier way,” she thought. 🌱 That experience planted a seed— one that would eventually grow into Wahine Capital As she navigated this difficult time, Rejina realized many women, including professionals, were unsure where to put their money and faced barriers in financial decision-making. 👩💼Financial security and independence for women, something Rejina always believed in, now felt more urgent than ever. In her pursuit of a solution, Rejina met up with her friend, Shareena/ Sherry Mohd Sheriff. 🤝 With their combined expertise—Rejina's in capital markets and Sherry's in human rights empowerment and capital markets regulation—they realized they had the power to change the narrative for women’s financial empowerment. Together, they launched Wahine Capital with a vision to simplify financial management for women. To refine their idea, they joined Alpha Startups™️ and that helped shape Wahine Capital’s direction. 🚀 Becoming part of the 1337 Ventures portfolio, they fine-tuned their concept into W Vault, a digital tool offering users a snapshot of their financial status and a repository for important documents. The platform ensures peace of mind during life’s most difficult moments, offering access to documents in case of illness or death. W Vault helps users manage their finances better as the dashboard provides a visual to connect users to financial solutions. Today, Wahine Capital is making financial management more accessible to women. With W Vault, users can also schedule free consultations with a diverse panel of experts, from psychologists to fund managers to financial planners. It's the tool Rejina wishes she had years ago. 👩💻 Want to take charge of your financial future? 📁 Wahine Capital has tools to help you in your financial journey and constantly hosts events on financial empowerment, designed specifically for women: https://lnkd.in/gbVnmcM4 If you're already building or looking to create a solution that empowers women, pre-register for the next batch of Alpha Startups™ For Women, where women-related solutions take centers stage: https://lnkd.in/gZMCw4Ws #AlphaStartups #1337Ventures #PitchTuesday #FounderFocus #WahineCapital #WomenFounders #WomenEntrepreneurs

We're absolutely thrilled to have won second place for Innovative Financing at the recent #UNWEPs awards. Read what our founder Rejina Rahim has to say about the achievement below! 🎉

During the initial days when I first started Wahine Capital, one of the leading founders in Malaysia had mentioned that being an entrepreneur required #mental resilience. I could not understand the significance of this remark until this year. Why? Unlike in my days in corporate employment, the work load and stress is yours alone to bear. As an early stage start up, everything is shouldered by the co-founders as we are single handedly responsible for ensuring the business grows, the brand is recognized and the bills are paid. Thus, to be recognized by United Nations Women under the Women Empowerment Principles awards is absolutely satisfying. Thank you to all the judges and LeadWomen for organizing the Malaysian awards. This award will definitely spur us to do better and more to create significant impact and help reduce the inequalities we women face. Thank you to our Board Advisors Claire Sancelot and Sahana Arun Kumar for the support and believe in us. Here’s to greater milestones ahead.
