The Best Great Wall Experience at Mutianyu

🧐 There are so many sections of the Great Wall, so why did I choose Mutianyu? Here's how I made my decision: 1. Badaling? Although it is the most famous section of the Great Wall, it is always crowded with people, whether in the off-season or peak season. It's hard to take a photo without people in it! 😩 2. Juyongguan? Steep and dangerous, with a high level of difficulty! For this trip to the Great Wall, I wanted a relaxing and enjoyable experience, not a physical challenge! 💪 3. Shuiguan? Although it has a unique "V"-shaped water gate watchtower and historical sites, some sections are steep. More importantly, the infrastructure and commercial development of Shuiguan may not be as good as Mutianyu, which may affect the overall experience. 😔 4. Mutianyu? It was simply made to meet all my needs! First of all, it is close to the city center and very convenient to get to! Secondly, it is moderately difficult, making it suitable for family trips with children or the elderly. Most importantly, it is equipped with cable cars and toboggans, making it super fun! You can choose to hike or take the cable car or toboggan, and decide whether you want to walk or have a relaxing time! 🎢 Moreover, Mutianyu is a popular destination for foreign tourists, families, and the elderly. It is not only beautiful but also rich in history and culture! 🎬 It was also a filming location for the movie "If You Are the One"! 🧗‍♀️ The best route at Mutianyu that won't tire you out! We chose the central route. Although the west and east routes are recommended online, we considered the elderly and children who wanted to play on the toboggan, so we chose to take the cable car up and the toboggan down, from Watchtower 14 to Watchtower 6. It was all downhill, with fewer people and great views, making it a perfect experience! 💯 👭 For family trips with children or the elderly, this route is highly recommended! It's easy to take photos and enjoy the fun of climbing the Great Wall! 💰 Here's a breakdown of the costs! Remember to plan ahead! 🚌 Bus: CNY 80 per adult, CNY 40 per child aged 4–10. You can buy various tickets on the bus, which is very convenient! 🚠 Cable car up and toboggan down: CNY 200 round-trip (although a bit expensive, it takes only 10 minutes to reach the top, which is worth it!) 🎫 Ticket: CNY 40 per person 🕒 Here's the timeline for the day! Remember to save it! 🌈 8:00: Take the bus from Hepingxiqiao to Mutianyu. It's a direct bus, which is very convenient! 🕚 9:20: Arrive at Mutianyu, buy water at the foot of the mountain, and take the shuttle bus to the Great Wall! 🕛 9:50: Take the cable car to Watchtower 14 in 10 minutes, and take a photo at the "He who has never been to the Great Wall is not a true man" sign! 📸 🕜 12:30: Walk from Watchtower 14 to Watchtower 6.
