Sha Tau Kok! Exploring the Interplay of Sea, Mountains, Geology, Islands, Sun, and Moon.
During my recent trip to Sha Tau Kok Pier, I had the incredible opportunity to experience the mesmerizing art installation "Interwoven Horizon" by the multi-disciplinary artist En Iwamura from Japan. This captivating creation beautifully intertwines the elements of the sea, mountains, geology, islands, sun, and moon, creating a harmonious fusion of art and nature. As the installation leisurely floats in the sea near the pier, it serves as a visual symphony against the backdrop of the breathtaking natural landscape. En Iwamura's work is a testament to his deep connection with nature, drawing inspiration from the surroundings to highlight the intricate details of the landscape and geological formations near Sha Tau Kok. The interplay of natural colors in his art adds a touch of magic to the already stunning scenery. Exploring "Interwoven Horizon" was a truly immersive experience that allowed me to appreciate the beauty of the environment in a new light, merging artistic expression with the wonders of nature. It was a journey that left me in awe of the intricate ties that bind the elements together in perfect harmony.

Beautiful Wenhai Lake in Lijiang Yunnan
#chinatrip
Wenhai Lake, situated on the southern slope of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang, Yunnan, is a seasonal alpine lake and wetland at an elevation of approximately 3,100 meters
I went to Wenhai Lake in summer, the atmosphere is a vibrant, lush grazing land surrounded by meandering streams and blooming wildflowers. Nestled on the southern slope of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the lake basin becomes a breathtaking expanse of greenery, attracting herds of livestock and showcasing many of species of rhododendrons in full bloom.

In Zootopia anyone could be anything!
If you’re heading to Shanghai Disneyland, here’s the game plan for a magical start to your day!
Early Park Entry Pass is absolutely worth it. You’ll get into the park 1–1.5 hours before the general crowd, and trust me—it’s a game-changer. I managed to conquer three major rides before 9:30 AM. Skip the Premier Access—it’s not necessary at all if you play your cards right.
Now, about getting there: many hotels offer free shuttles to Disney, but here’s the catch—they usually don’t run before 7:30 AM. So if you’re team Early Entry, plan ahead!
Hungry? Forget overpriced meals in the park. Disneytown is where it’s at! Tons of restaurants are just a short walk from the gates, and the prices won’t make you cry into your Mickey-shaped snacks.
Photos with characters? Be prepared to wait. The lines are long, and Disney cast members don’t rush anyone—which is great for the perfect photo, but not so great if you’re next in line.
Finally, do not miss the pawpsicles at Zootopia. So cute. So refreshing. So necessary.
Enjoy every magical moment!

Trip to Tallinn, Estonia 🇪🇪
It was a trip to Tallinn, Estonia with family. When we visited Tallinn, one of the most memorable sites we explored was the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral ⛪️ This stunning Russian Orthodox cathedral, with its grand onion domes and intricate details, is a must-see for anyone visiting the city. Its location on Toompea Hill provides a spectacular view of the old town 😍 Whether you’re capturing the grandeur of the building or the serene interior, this place is a photographer’s dream 📸 I would recommend going early in the morning ☀️ to avoid the crowds and capture the soft light that illuminates the cathedral’s beautiful architecture.
📍Toom-Kooli 6, 10130 Tallinn, Estonia
One of the highlights of our trip was wandering through Tallinn’s Old Town. The cobblestone streets 🏘️ medieval buildings, and colorful houses gave us the feeling we had stepped back in time. We spent hours taking pictures of landmarks like the Town Hall Square and the Tallinn City Wall. If you’re looking for the perfect shot 📸 be sure to visit Raekoja Plats, the town square, where the buildings come to life in different lights throughout the day. Early mornings or late afternoons provide the best light for photos, as the streets are quieter and the golden-hour glow is magical ✨
📍Raekoja Plats, 10146 Tallinn, Estonia
If you’re a photography enthusiast like we are, you can’t miss the Patkuli Viewing Platform 🙌 From here, you’ll get a panoramic view of the entire old town, with its red rooftops, medieval towers, and the sparkling sea beyond. The view is especially breathtaking at sunset 🌇 as the golden hues reflect off the city’s buildings. I would recommend visiting during sunset for an unforgettable experience 🙌
📍Patkuli, 10130 Tallinn, Estonia
Another unforgettable experience was exploring the Seaplane Harbour (Lennusadam), a maritime museum housed in an iconic seaplane hangar. The exhibits, including a historic submarine and a large variety of ships 🚢 make it a fascinating place to visit 😍 I’d recommend taking pictures of the seaplane hangar’s striking architecture and the impressive maritime displays 📸 The museum is particularly beautiful when the light pours through the glass walls.
📍Vesilennuki 6, 10415 Tallinn, Estonia
We also spent a few hours at Kumu Art Museum, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone interested in contemporary art. The museum itself is an architectural masterpiece, with sleek lines and plenty of natural light ✨ making it perfect for photography. The exhibits offer a deep dive into Estonian art history, and the building itself provides plenty of photo opportunities 📸 For the best shots, try capturing the museum from the outside as well as the interior with its beautiful minimalist design 😍
📍Weizenbergi 34, 10127 Tallinn, Estonia
Each of these places left a lasting impression on us, and I’m confident that any traveler visiting Tallinn will find them just as memorable 🙌🙌🙌

Stepping Into a Fairytale: My Unforgettable Adventure in Český Krumlov
#europetrip #ceskykrumlov #czechrepublic #historical #travel #thingstodo
Visiting Český Krumlov felt like stepping into a storybook. This UNESCO World Heritage site, with its medieval charm and stunning architecture, is a perfect blend of history, culture, and beauty. My journey began at the Budějovická brána, the grand gateway to the castle complex, where the magnificence of the State Castle immediately captivated me. Wandering through its historic halls and exhibitions, I could feel the echoes of its regal past.
The Cloak Bridge was another highlight, an architectural marvel connecting the castle to the lush Castle Gardens. Standing on the bridge, I imagined the royal processions of old, while the gardens offered a peaceful retreat and sweeping views of the town. The Castle Tower provided the grand finale, offering panoramic vistas of Český Krumlov’s cobblestone streets, vibrant rooftops, and the winding Vltava River.
Exploring the Old Town was equally enchanting. The narrow alleys led me to the Gothic splendor of St. Vitus Church and quirky shops like Botanicus and Koh-I-Noor, where I found unique souvenirs. A cozy lunch at the historic Hotel Růže let me savor the flavors of local cuisine in a setting rich with charm.
Crossing Lazebnický most, I soaked in views of the serene Vltava River before ending my day at the Castle Tower, where the fairy-tale town unfolded beneath me. Český Krumlov is truly a destination where history, art, and nature blend seamlessly into a dream-like experience.
The Allure of Budapest: Discovering the City’s Unseen Charm

Budapest, Hungary’s captivating capital, is a city where rich history and vibrant modern life beautifully intertwine. One of my most memorable experiences was exploring Buda Castle Hill, where cobbled streets lead to stunning views of the Danube River and landmarks like the Royal Palace and Fisherman's Bastion. The architecture here feels like stepping into another time.
Another highlight was the Széchenyi Thermal Bath, one of Europe's largest spa complexes. Soaking in the warm, mineral-rich waters amidst Neo-Baroque beauty was a unique experience that allowed me to immerse in Hungary's centuries-old wellness tradition.
A boat cruise along the Danube revealed a new side of Budapest, with breathtaking views of the Parliament, Chain Bridge, and Buda Castle, especially as the city lit up at night.
One of the most unforgettable moments was visiting the New York Café, often called the most beautiful café in the world. The opulent, historic setting, complete with gilded interiors and chandeliers, made sipping coffee and enjoying Hungarian cake feel like a royal affair.
🇫🇷 Josephine Chez Dumonet - Nice experience of Parisian bistro
#europetrip
If you are looking to have a classic French dinner, Josephine Chez Dumonet would be a good choice as it is an old world bistro from the Belle Epoque era. The traditional, classic French vibes could be seen from the white tablecloths and waiters with black ties. We ordered their very famous Beef Bourgignon. It was so rich, meaty with the wine sauce coated the tender chunks of melting braised beef. Noodles were as a side which went really well with the sauce.

Trip to Pilsen, Czech Republic 🇨🇿
It was a trip to Pilsen, Czech Republic 🇨🇿 We recently visited this lovely city, and it’s one of those places that offers a fantastic mix of history, culture, and photogenic spots 📸
We kicked off our visit with a tour of the iconic Pilsner Urquell Brewery, home 🏠 to the world-famous Pilsner lager. This brewery is not just a place to sample a cold beer 🍻 but also a piece of history. The brewery’s interiors are beautiful, and the deep cellars offer a unique and atmospheric place to take some truly memorable photos 📸 We had the chance to capture the copper brewing tanks and the rustic cellars, which had the perfect vintage touch. For a photo-op, the iconic beer barrels stacked high in the old cellars make for an amazing shot. If you time it right, the golden hour light streaming through the windows creates a magical glow on the old wood 🪵 and stone ✨
📍Prazdroj 7, 304 97 Plzeň, Czech Republic.
After soaking in the brewery’s history, we headed to Republic Square (Náměstí Republiky), which is the heart of the city’s Old Town. The square is flanked by beautiful historic buildings, including the Plzeň Town Hall, a stunning example of Renaissance architecture 🙌 We wandered around the square, taking pictures 📸 of the ornate architecture and the lively atmosphere. The fountain in the center of the square is another great spot for photos, especially with the sunlight ☀️ reflecting off the water 💦 We also popped into the St. Bartholomew’s Cathedral nearby, with its tall spire (the highest in the Czech Republic), offering another vantage point for panoramic shots of the square and the city.
📍Náměstí Republiky, 301 00 Plzeň, Czech Republic.
We then explored the Plzeň Historical Underground, a series of medieval tunnels that run beneath the city. These tunnels were used for storage, and they have an eerie yet fascinating atmosphere, perfect for unique and atmospheric photos 📸 The low, arched ceilings, brick walls, and dim lighting make for dramatic shots. It’s an intriguing way to learn more about the city’s past while getting some photos 📸 that are different from the usual tourist spots.
📍Smetanovy sady, 301 00 Plzeň, Czech Republic.
We also made our way to the Great Synagogue, which is the second-largest synagogue in Europe. Its Neo-Renaissance design and ornate decorations made it one of the most photogenic 📸 spots of the day. We admired the stunning façade and captured some pictures of the intricate details on the building’s exterior. The surrounding area, with its quiet streets and leafy trees 🌳 also offered a peaceful place for photos. Don’t miss the chance to stroll around the exterior for shots that showcase the building’s grand size against the backdrop of Plzen’s peaceful streets 🙌
📍Šafaříkova 2, 301 00 Plzeň, Czech Republic.
I’d definitely recommend visiting Pilsen if you’re after a quiet, picturesque city that’s full of history, culture, and fantastic photo opportunities 🙌🙌🙌

I found a rocky Jurassic Park
I found a neat dinosaur stone statue park in Terelj National Park, Mongolia. This place is around the corner from the notorious Turtle Rock. Many real life dinosaur remains have also been discovered in Mongolia over the years, thus dinosaurs are an integral part of the modern culture. Mongolia’s capital Ulaanbatar even has a mall with massive dinosaur bones and skeletons on display.
The dinosaur statue park has a small entrance fee of 2,000 tugrik. Which was around 30 cents (.30) in US dollars. Some of the statues are small and some are ginormous. It was well worth a visit and gives you a unique sense of wonder. Most of the statues are in great shape but a few of them had crumbling parts and I wish someone would perform maintenance more frequently.
The entrance fee is cheap but many visit everyday. The park is very wide and spread out therefore it is not too crowded. I did not upload pictures of all of the dinosaurs so go see for yourself!

Trip to Leipzig, Germany 🇩🇪
It was a trip to Leipzig, Germany. Our recent trip to Leipzig was a truly unforgettable experience, offering a perfect blend of history, culture, and modernity 😍
We started our exploration with the Marktplatz (Market Square), right in the heart of the Old Town. The square is surrounded by beautiful buildings, including the Altes Rathaus (Old Town Hall), a striking example of Renaissance architecture. The best time to photograph 📸 here is early in the morning when the light bathes the square in a soft, golden hue, and the area is relatively quiet 🙌
📍Marktplatz 1, 04109 Leipzig, Germany
We then headed to the Nikolaikirche (St. Nicholas Church), one of Leipzig’s most iconic landmarks. This impressive church ⛪️ has a rich history and stunning interiors, with its soaring Gothic arches and intricate stained-glass windows. We spent time inside capturing the peaceful atmosphere, and then took a few exterior shots from the square 📸 The church ⛪️ is especially photogenic during the late afternoon when the sun casts dramatic shadows across the façade ✨
📍Nikolaikirchhof 3, 04109 Leipzig, Germany
We also visited Leipzig’s Monument to the Battle of the Nations (Völkerschlachtdenkmal), one of the largest monuments in Europe 🙌The imposing structure, built to commemorate the Battle of Leipzig in 1813, offers panoramic views of the city from its observation platform. We climbed to the top in the late afternoon, just in time to capture some stunning wide-angle shots 📸 of the city bathed in the warm light of sunset ⛅️The monument itself is awe-inspiring, with its detailed sculptures and grand design providing ample photo opportunities 🙌
📍Struwwelpeterstraße 2, 04299 Leipzig, Germany
One of our favorite spots in Leipzig was the Johannapark and Cospudener See, a large lake just south of the city center 😍 We spent a few hours strolling along the lake’s shore, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and taking photos of the reflections on the water. This area is perfect for nature shots, especially during the golden hour ☀️ or at sunset when the light is soft and warm. The tranquil environment is a perfect contrast to the urban energy of the city, and it’s a great spot for relaxed outdoor photography 📸
📍Johannapark 1, 04299 Leipzig, Germany
We also wandered around Karli Street (Karl-Liebknecht-Straße), known for its lively atmosphere and vibrant street art scene 📸 The street comes alive at night, with street performers, trendy cafés, and colorful murals providing ample opportunities for capturing urban life 🙌It’s an ideal spot for evening shots, especially when the neon lights and vibrant colors give the city a unique, energetic feel ✨
📍Karl-Liebknecht-Straße, 04275 Leipzig, Germany

Trip to Salamanca, Spain 🇪🇸
It was a trip to Salamanca, Spain. This UNESCO World Heritage city is a perfect blend of old-world charm and vibrant student life, offering countless photo opportunities 📸
We started our adventure at the Plaza Mayor, the heart of the city. The baroque square is stunning at any time of day, but the real magic happens at sunset when the golden light reflects off the sandstone buildings ✨ It’s an ideal spot for wide-angle shots, capturing both the beauty of the architecture and the lively atmosphere. We arrived early in the morning to beat the crowds, allowing us to take some peaceful, early-morning photos before the hustle and bustle began 📸
📍Plaza Mayor, 37002 Salamanca, Spain
We then visited the Universidad de Salamanca, one of Europe’s oldest universities. We were fascinated by the ornate architecture of Escuelas Mayores, particularly the intricate carvings above the main entrance. A highlight of our visit was hunting for the famous “frog on a skull,” hidden somewhere in the stonework. This quirky little detail makes for a fun and unique photo, especially with the historic façade in the background 😍 If you’re a fan of detailed architectural photography, this is a must-see 🙌
📍C. Libreros, 1, 37008 Salamanca, Spain
One of the best spots for panoramic views of the city is the Catedral Vieja (Old Cathedral) ⛪️ The climb up the bell tower rewards you with sweeping views of the rooftops, the Tormes River, and beyond. We took a moment to capture the golden light over the city, which made the terracotta rooftops glow ✨ Inside, the cathedral itself is filled with history, and the detailed frescoes and stained-glass windows offered plenty of photo-worthy moments 📸
📍Plaza Mayor, 37008 Salamanca, Spain
We also spent some time at the Convento de San Esteban, a peaceful and less-visited gem 💎 in the city. The monastery’s cloister is a tranquil haven, offering a quiet escape from the city’s hustle. We couldn’t resist photographing the beautifully intricate details of the church’s ⛪️ baroque altars and the ornate ceilings, which were both stunning and evocative 😍
📍Plaza del Convento, 37002 Salamanca, Spain
We also made our way to the Calle Mayor, one of the main streets in Salamanca. The street itself is lined with impressive architecture, and the soft glow ✨ of the streetlights at night created the perfect setting for evening shots 📸 The city’s atmosphere changes with the setting sun, so I would highly recommend wandering through its charming streets during the golden hour to capture the city’s quieter side 🙌
📍Calle Mayor, 37001 Salamanca, Spain
Salamanca is a city that offers so much for photographers, from its impressive historic buildings to its lively street scenes 🙌🙌🙌

Korean Sliced Noodles at Daegu Seomun Market
Red Bench Traditional Sliced Noodles
Enjoy the Taste | Korean Sliced Noodles
Korean Sliced Noodles
Seomun Market Delicacies Sweet Pancakes
Delicious Sliced Noodles Next in Line
Also one of Daegu's Top Ten Delicacies
Seomun Market is quite large, stretching across
The sliced noodles form a street of their own
One stall next to another, forming a row
Finally attracted by the Red Bench stall
Red benches scattered beside the independent stall
Along with the steaming noodle stall
Auntie busy scooping noodles and preparing ingredients
Foodies casually sitting, shouting their orders
This atmosphere and scene are full of stories
But the market auntie doesn't know English
I had to observe how the locals order
Found out this stall only sells sliced noodles
Haha, that makes it much simpler
Happily went to the auntie, gestured 1 with my finger
Auntie nodded and pointed to the seating area
One person, two chairs, one as a table
The sliced noodles in water, quite good-looking
Clear soup noodles with greens, chili oil, and scallions
Sprinkled with white sesame seeds for added color and aroma
A side dish of spicy kimchi is a standard
Stirring while it's hot, served a bowl
The broth is clear and sweet, the white noodles are delicate
This bowl of sliced noodles may not be extraordinary
But like our market's plain noodles
Always a bowl of delicious, never-tiring food
Eating while experiencing the old market culture
Thinking about what to eat next
Trip to Nantes, France 🇫🇷
It was a trip to Nantes, France. We began our adventure in Nantes with a visit to the Château des Ducs de Bretagne, a majestic medieval castle 🏰 that serves as a symbol of the city’s history. We were instantly struck by its imposing stone walls and surrounding moat, which are perfect for capturing dramatic photos 📸 Inside, we explored the Musée d’Histoire de Nantes, which takes you through centuries of local history. The exterior is especially beautiful in the soft morning light, making it an ideal time to photograph the architecture and surrounding gardens before the crowds arrive. I would highly recommend this spot for history buffs and those who love capturing historical landmarks with a bit of a medieval flair ✨
📍4 Place Marc Elder, 44000 Nantes, France
We also explored the quirky and creative Les Machines de l’île, a one-of-a-kind amusement park on the banks of the Loire River, where we encountered gigantic mechanical creatures inspired by the works of Jules Verne. The centerpiece, the Grand Éléphant, is a massive elephant that walks, sprays water 💦 and takes visitors on a ride definitely a highlight for any photographer 📸 The Carrousel des Mondes Marins is another visually stunning spot with intricate marine-themed creatures. We visited in the late morning, just before the crowd swelled, and the sunlight was perfect for capturing the movement and intricate designs of these magical machines 🙌
📍3 Rue de la Biscuiterie, 44200 Nantes, France
We then made our way to the Jardin des Plantes, a peaceful oasis right in the heart of Nantes. The garden, with its vibrant flowers 💐 lush greenery 🌱 and impressive sculptures, was perfect for a relaxing walk and photo ops 📸 We especially loved the Tropical Greenhouse, with its dense, steamy atmosphere that made for striking photos of exotic plants and flowers. The late afternoon is the best time to visit when the light softens and the garden’s natural beauty really pops ✨ The combination of natural and architectural beauty here makes it a must-visit spot in Nantes.
📍1 Allée de la Amoros, 44000 Nantes, France
We also visited Île de Versailles, a Japanese-style garden located on a small island 🏝️ in the Loire River. The calm, reflective waters and meticulously manicured garden offer some of the most picturesque views in Nantes. As the sun began to set, the golden hour light illuminated the delicate Japanese structures and vibrant foliage, creating a magical 😍atmosphere perfect for photo. We took a leisurely stroll around the island, enjoying the tranquility and beauty of the space. I highly recommend visiting this hidden gem 💎 in the evening for a serene escape and some stunning shots 📸
📍Quai de la Fosse, 44000 Nantes, France
Nantes was so fun and really suitable to everyone who is visiting France 🙌🙌🙌

Experience 4 seasons in 1 day ⛰️九寨沟 🏞️
Finally put my foot down and decided to try solo travelling while visiting one of the world’s most beautiful UNESCO site. While planning, I realised there was not much itineraries around in English. So here’s my itinerary:
Day 1
1040H: 🛬Landed in Chengdu Tianfu Airport
1303-1330H: 🚝Took the train from Tianfu Airport to Chengdu East Station (approx 30mins)
1444-1654H: 🚝Bullet Train from Chengdu East Station to HuanglongJiuzhai station (approx 2h)
1700H: 🚕Took a 10mins cab to a hotel located near Chengdu East station
1800H: 🥘Dropped baggage at hotel before having dinner at a nearby restaurant 10mins car ride away
Day 2
0900H: 🚕 Took a 10mins cab back to HuanglongJiuzhaigou station to catch the 2hour shuttle to JiuZhai attraction entrance
1130H: 📍Arrived at JiuZhaiGou attraction entrance (10mins walk), checked in at hotel to drop off lugguage before catching a quick lunch and heading towards the attraction.
1230H: ⛰️ Follow the signs and head towards the attraction where you will scan your ticket and board a bus which will bring you to the attraction route while giving a tour in Chinese. (Note: Sit on the left side of the bus to get a better views of the scenery while on the bus. Last entry to attraction is at 1400H)
1830H: 🏞️ JiuZhaiGou closes at 1830H, so do ensure that you catch the last bus to leave the place.
1900H: Dinner and head back to accommodation
Day 3
0609H: 🚏Head towards the bus gathering point and catch the earliest bus back to Huanglongjiuzhai station (approx 2h ride)
0904-1045H: 🚝 Bullet train back to Chengdu East station (approx 2h)
This was the itinerary I came up with as a solo traveller. An alternative to the itinerary would be to travel to the attraction area on day 1 such that you will be able to spend a full day at JiuZhaiGou or head back directly to Chengdu with the latest bullet train. Do book your train tickets two week in advance to secure a seat. Note that it’s currently non-peak period for jiuzhaigou so tickets are half price :) what are you waiting for? Hurry book your tickets and marvel at the beautiful scenery.
