A Purrfect Escape in Chiang Rai
#2024mapped
The Cat Cafe in Chiang Rai was an absolute delight. It was a cozy little spot where I could relax, sip on a cup of coffee, and be surrounded by friendly felines. The atmosphere was peaceful, with soft music playing in the background and cats lounging around or playfully chasing toys. It’s a small but charming place, perfect for cat lovers looking to unwind. I loved how the cafe was more than just a place for coffee—it was an experience that connected me to the local community of animal lovers in a unique way.

Death Railway, Kanchanaburi
#magicalxmastrip #thailand
The Death Railway is a popular tourist spot in Kanchanaburi, Thailand which is located just 2 hours away from Bangkok. It has a sad and painful past as it was built during World War 2 by Allied Prisoners of War and Asian laborers under Japanese occupation to connect Thailand and Burma for military purposes. The construction was brutal and left many workers dying from harsh conditions thus the railway’s name. They say every sleeper on the train track is a cost of a life.
White Temple: A Stunning Masterpiece in Chiang Rai
#magicalxmastrip
The White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) in Chiang Rai is unlike any temple I’ve ever seen. The pure white color of the structure, with its intricate details, left me in awe. The temple tells a modern story through surrealist art, with murals depicting scenes from pop culture alongside traditional Buddhist themes. As I walked through the complex, I felt like I was part of a living piece of art, and the whole place had a magical, otherworldly feel. It was an experience that challenged my understanding of both art and spirituality—an unforgettable journey through creativity and culture.

Phuket Old Town: A Step Back in Time
#magicalxmastrip
Wandering through Phuket Old Town was like taking a step back in time. The Sino-Portuguese architecture, with its pastel-colored buildings and vibrant street art, gave the place an undeniable charm. I spent hours strolling through the narrow lanes, savoring the local snacks—dim sum that tasted like it came from a family recipe passed down for generations. The street murals tell stories of the town’s rich heritage, and the old mansions whisper tales of the past. Phuket Old Town is a hidden gem, where history and culture linger in every corner.

The Black House Chiang Rai: A Dark Beauty Museum
#magicalxmastrip
The Black House (Baan Dam) in Chiang Rai was one of the most unique places I visited in Thailand. The complex of dark, imposing buildings filled with strange yet beautiful art was unlike anything I had ever seen. The artist’s vision came to life in every corner, with sculptures and paintings that were both eerie and captivating. The atmosphere was mysterious, almost like stepping into a world where the boundaries between life and death blur. It was a thought-provoking experience, and the artistry left a lasting impression on me.

Blue Temple : A Burst of Color and Serenity
#2024mapped
The Blue Temple, or Wat Rong Suea Ten, was a delightful surprise. Nestled in the hills of Chiang Rai, it’s a serene escape from the more tourist-heavy attractions. The vivid blue color of the temple’s exterior catches your eye from a distance, but it’s the intricate details inside that truly take your breath away. The murals are rich with symbolism, and the massive white Buddha statue sitting inside is a vision of tranquility. It’s not as crowded as other temples, so you can take your time soaking in the beauty and the peaceful atmosphere of this stunning place.

Mueang Boran Ancient City: A Journey Through Time

Mueang Boran, the Ancient City, was like walking through a living museum. This vast park showcases replicas of Thailand’s most famous historical sites, and I spent hours exploring the intricate details of each replica. From the majestic temples to the traditional Thai houses, it was like traveling through centuries of Thai history in just a few hours. Muang Boran is a must-visit for anyone interested in Thailand’s rich cultural and architectural heritage.

Chiang Mai is beautiful and peaceful
I had heard so many amazing things about Chiang Mai before, and I couldn’t resist visiting this enchanting old city in northern Thailand. Since this trip was meant to be a “slow-paced” break to enjoy some me-time, I didn’t prepare any specific to-do list.
I spent two days here. So, what exactly did I do in Chiang Mai?
I visited Wat Phra Singh, one of Chiang Mai’s most revered temples, known for its stunning Lanna (Northern Thailand) architecture and the sacred Phra Singh Buddha image. I also explored Baan Kang Wat, an artisan village featuring small studios, art galleries, and craft shops. To cap off the day, I experienced the Chiang Mai Night Safari, a unique wildlife park that offers visitors the chance to observe animals in a natural, nighttime environment. I also wandered through the Chiang Mai Night Market filled with local crafts, souvenirs, and street food.
Of course, what’s travel without trying local cuisine and coffee?
I visited two of the best local specialty coffee shops in Chiang Mai — Akha Ama Coffee and Roast8ry Lab. Both are renowned, award-winning artisan cafes celebrated for their high-quality coffee, sourced directly from local farmers.
I enjoyed authentic Northern Thai cuisine at Huen Muan Jai, which means “happy home.” Set in a traditional Lanna house with a tree-lined garden, this wallet-friendly restaurant is recognized in the Michelin Guide Thailand for offering high-quality meals at reasonable prices.
Chiang Mai is beautiful and peaceful. #travel #southeastasia #thailand

A Royal Feast: Dining at Blue Elephant Bangkok
Dining at Blue Elephant in Bangkok was an extraordinary experience that transported me straight into the heart of Royal Thai cuisine. From the moment I stepped inside, the elegant setting, inspired by traditional Thai culture, set the tone for an exquisite meal. The restaurant's attention to detail, with its regal décor and charming ambiance, made every moment feel special.
The menu, a celebration of authentic Royal Thai flavors, offered a perfect blend of spices, herbs, and fresh ingredients. Each dish was expertly crafted, with rich textures and delicate flavors that took me on a culinary journey through Thailand. The highlight of my meal was the Tom Yum Kung, a tangy and aromatic soup bursting with the perfect balance of heat and sourness.
The service was impeccable, with the staff attentive and knowledgeable about each dish's history and preparation. I left feeling fully satisfied, not just from the delicious food, but from the overall experience. Blue Elephant is a true gem for anyone seeking a taste of Thailand's royal culinary heritage.

Wat Intharawat (Wat Ton Kwen)
Wat Intharawat, also known as Wat Ton Kwen, in Chiang Mai is truly a hidden gem! I recently had a photo shoot there, and it was an unforgettable experience. The temple’s serene beauty and traditional Lanna architecture are absolutely captivating.
Right in front of the temple, there’s a shop that rents Lanna costumes – the only one in the area. The rental fee includes hairstyling and dressing assistance, although makeup is not included. Wearing the traditional attire really enhances the experience and makes for stunning photos that capture the essence of Lanna culture.
I highly recommend hiring the photographer as a solo traveller. The prices are more than reasonable. If you’re planning to visit, don’t miss the chance to immerse yourself in the beauty of this temple. And, of course, make sure to dress in traditional Lanna attire for memorable and beautiful photos!

Solo Trip: A Solo Traveler’s Peaceful Escape in Wat Arun
#solotrip
Visiting Wat Arun, the iconic Temple of Dawn, was the highlight of my solo adventure in Bangkok. Located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, this temple felt like a step into a timeless masterpiece—peaceful, breathtaking, and rich with history.
🏛 Why Wat Arun Stands Out
As a solo traveler, the intricate beauty of Wat Arun made me pause and appreciate the moment. The towering spires decorated with colorful mosaics seemed to sparkle in the light, and walking around the temple grounds was like wandering through a piece of art. Every detail told its own story, offering moments of quiet reflection.
Respecting the culture was also part of the charm. Modest clothing is required, but shawls are available at the entrance if you need one. It added to the authenticity of the experience.
📸 Perfect for Solo Explorers
For anyone who loves photography, Wat Arun is a dream come true. Whether it’s the mosaics up close or the temple’s towering silhouette, every angle offers a stunning shot. I spent so much time exploring with my camera, capturing the essence of this beautiful place.

Thailand’s Golden Triangle Adventure
The Golden Triangle in Thailand was an adventure like no other. This iconic region, where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet, is as fascinating as it is scenic. Standing at the viewpoint overlooking the Mekong and Ruak rivers, I felt a sense of wonder seeing three countries so close together.
I visited the Hall of Opium Museum, which gave an incredible insight into the area’s complex history with the opium trade. It was both sobering and fascinating to learn how this region transformed over the years.
What I loved most was the serenity of the landscapes—rolling hills, lush greenery, and the calm flow of the Mekong. The Golden Triangle is a unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty, making it a must-visit for anyone exploring northern Thailand.

Why Go To Bangkok ? 🇨🇷
Travelers have a hard time putting a pin in Bangkok's personality. Most first-timers see this city as one caught between the past and the present. Ancient temples and modern shopping malls comprise Thailand's capital, and Buddhist monks and regulars of Patpong (Bangkok's red light district) share the city's streets. The contrast can result in an exhilarating yet chaotic setting.
With that said, Bangkok's dynamic environment requires a lot of energy. Consistently hot weather and persistent crowds take their toll on unprepared visitors. Yes, the city seems to boil over with everything from humidity to humanity, but it's this exotic overabundance that charms travelers. Here, you'll find the world's largest open-air market, a world-class aquarium housed in an eight-level shopping mall, a 150-foot golden Buddha statue and so much more. It's a city of vast surprises, so savor its delightful incongruity.

Fresh Orange Cold Brew
Cold brew, topped with oranges
POTTA in Ratchaburi
Originally part of a pocket plan
A small white house covered in greenery
Attracted by such photos
When visiting, there was some hesitation
Walking on a small industrial road
With weeds and bungalows on both sides
Even saw an abandoned recycling yard
After a short distance, turned a corner
Finally saw the POTTA sign
On a wall covered in greenery
Just like the photos, a small white house
Hidden in the sunlight and greenery
Opening the door, the aroma of coffee wafts
Floor-to-ceiling windows let in natural light
Falling on wooden tables and chairs
Surrounded by wooden forest
Like a fairytale forest house
Fresh Orange Cold Brew, sweet with fruit
But more of a coffee aftertaste
Inside, it's very quiet in the afternoon
Outside, leaves flutter in the breeze
Take a sip of refreshing coffee
Taste a piece of homemade cake
Unknowingly, an entire afternoon passes
Maeklong railway market 🚂
The Maeklong Railway Market is a fascinating blend of chaos and charm. Known as the “umbrella pull-down market,” it’s famous for its unique location right on active train tracks. Vendors line the rails with fresh produce, seafood, and local goods, quickly retracting their stalls as the train approaches—only to set them back up moments after it passes. This incredible display of coordination and local tradition is a must-see for anyone visiting Thailand, offering a glimpse into the vibrant spirit of Thai market culture.
