Global Village in Dubai is a massive and extremely unique theme park. It is not a typical theme park but a place where over 90 cultures come together. I love how this place celebrates cultural diversity. Getting There - I got there by Metro + Bus. Rating - 9/10. Truly one stop entertainment destination and also lets you appreciate different cultures around the world! Attractions - 1. Pavilions There are just too many beautifully decorated pavilions in the theme park. Inside there you can find beautiful local crafts, food and even performances. It felt like I travelled one time around the world after visiting all the pavilions. I personally loved the design of the Iran and Japan pavilions. 2. Amusement rides Enjoy some thrilling rides in this theme park. There are more than 100 rides and games from tame ones to really intense ones. Food - There are so many food options in Global Village. Almost each country's pavilion has food from that culture. There are also a lot of arabic cuisine and street food to try. This is the first time I see an aquarium inside a mall, making it an interesting experience. Getting There - You can easily take the Metro to get to Dubai Mall. Attractions - There is a penguin cove where you can see some cute Gentoo penguins. There is also a long tunnel where you can get an immersive experience by walking through the base of the aquarium admiring the colourful fishes and corals. Not to forget the sharks and rays and also king crocodile. Food & Restaurants - There are hundreds of restaurants and cafes to choose from regardless what cuisine you are looking for. Recommend checking out Bateel, which is a premium date brand. Shopping - This is located in one of the largest malls in UAE, there are endless shops and options from international to luxury brands. You’ll queue to pick up your tickets, then again to get into the lift, but it’s fairly fast moving and there are occasional exhibits to keep you entertained throughout. There is an audio tour available too. Level 124 has an indoor section – complete with a gift shop – for those a little too sheepish to head outside, and you can zoom in on the ground using cameras connected to the touchscreens dotted throughout. #resorts While this wasn't purely a vacation. I did manage to spend two extra nights on my own after a work related commitment. This resort sits at the center of Dubai’s stunning Palm Island, also known as Palm Jumeirah. It is actually a man made island. There’s no shortage of luxury stay options and grand themes overkill hotels to pick in Dubai. As a single traveler it did pick all the boxes for my usual requisites. But this is more of a family resort. I cam imagine with so much to do and how comfortable it is, makes sense for majority of the crowd being family holiday goers. A taxi from the airport took me about half an hour to get to the resort. Speaking of the room, I picked the starter offering among the room options, always leaves a scope for upgrades. Priced already above a 1000 dollars, I can only imagine the level and comfort of the stay offered in higher segments like the Imperial Club rooms, suites, and signature suites. They are known to include underwater suites that feature floor-to-ceiling glass walls through which you can admire marine life swimming all around you. The stay experience was satisfactory. I mean I would sound repetitive if I go through the details of it. The customers care was attentive and looked after my needs well. I even checked in an hour sooner. The lobby area is very grand and at the same time Disney land like. This sense of overwhelm and grandeur I have noticed in many Chinese hotels and resorts too. And it works for their tourists. I wouldn't mind simplicity. I did check out the fitness center, the Awaken Spa, several pools and beaches, the Aquaventure Waterpark, the Lost Chambers Aquarium etc. They have two massive pools.
