This was the first hotel in China that made a strong impression on the exceptionally great service back when I was living in China back in 2009. Everything is effortless yet well thought of. I stayed at the Jinling Hotel 15 years ago with my wife. 15 years on we came back with our young children and the service remains as exceptionally impeccable. You can tell right from the GM (Mark) through to the front desk (Leo Huo) the service comes from the heart. Thank you Leo for taking care of me and my family during our short stay in Nanjing. Keep up the good work and looking forward to our next stay.

My recent stay at the InterContinental Nanjing during a father-son trip had its highlights, but there were also a few areas that could be improved. The room layout was excellent for our needs. It featured a separate living room and bedroom, which allowed my son to have his own space to play while I could relax or work in peace. The bathtub overlooking the lake was a lovely touch and provided a relaxing way to unwind after a day of exploring. The view of the lake from the room was stunning and added a serene atmosphere to our stay. However, I did notice some stains on the floor, which detracted from the overall cleanliness and luxury feel of the room. While it didn’t ruin our stay, it was something that stood out and could be addressed to maintain the hotel’s high standards. The location of the hotel was a bit of a downside. While the lakeside setting was beautiful, there wasn’t much around in terms of dining or entertainment options. We had to travel a fair distance to find good restaurants, which was inconvenient, especially with a child. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and accommodating, making our stay comfortable. The breakfast buffet was also a highlight, offering a wide variety of options that catered to both my son’s and my preferences. Overall, the InterContinental Nanjing provided a pleasant stay with its spacious room layout and beautiful lake views. However, the lack of nearby dining options and the cleanliness issue in the room were noticeable drawbacks. The location is excellent, overlooking the lake. Everything is clean and tidy, as you would expect for the price paid. A few suggestions for improvement: Breakfast: The hotel closes its breakfast bar at 10:15 a.m., which is too early. For people on holiday, it can be challenging to wake up before 9 a.m. Personally, during my two-day stay, I missed breakfast on the first day and had to rush through it on the second. Based on my experience with other five-star hotels, most do not enforce such an early cutoff. Some even allow guests to enjoy breakfast as long as they arrive at the restaurant by 11 a.m., letting them take their time and enjoy a leisurely breakfast or brunch until 1 p.m. Facilities: I am sure the hotel offers plenty, from gym facilities and a spa to a pool. However, when I checked in, the staff did not explain how to access these amenities. Since I was busy exploring the city of Suzhou, I didn’t have the opportunity to make full use of the hotel’s facilities. Still, for a five-star hotel, I expected the staff to provide a warm introduction to the property and its offerings upon check-in.

Great hotel, very luxurious and worth every penny, bed is comfortable, facilities are clean and high quality, all top notch.

Old oriental style hotel witha rich history. Look majestic and grand on the outside. (Interior of hotel in many nooks n corners are poorly maintained) Room service is superb. Super comfortable n firm bed. Located right within 太湖 (taihu lake) so you can jog/walk around the beautiful lake and giant ferris wheel in the morning and take in the fresh air. With outdoor pool n gym. Hotel food is mainly big fancy chinese restaurants n buffet. No casual dining . No western selection except the high tea cafe which serves some sandwiches and pasta. Hotel can organise ferry trip to turtlehead island

Good location with a nice and modern shopping mall just a traffic light away. Checkin staff did not seem to be very well trained, however polite. Added breakfast for one day but only registered 1 guest despite 2 guests stayed in the room. When we asked advise at concierge if there was any shops selling photography items, reply was “ sorry I’m not local”… Would like to express our gratitude to concierge staff Peter Zhang and room attendant Li Lingyu. Peter always has a genuine smile on his face and helped with our parcel delivery reached destination smoothly. Ms Li is kind and considerate, noted we like to drink coffee, made effort to place a Nespresso coffee machine in the room. Lastly, we’d like to appreciate hotel management for making my husband’s birthday even more special by presenting a cake and a card in the room. Would consider to stay again if we go back to Suzhou.

Very comfortable stay, easy to deliver takeaway food with their cute robot machine which delivers to your doorstep, also spacious room with clean toilet and instant warm water, it was a good experience and I would choose this location if I come to Nanjing again. We chose a non smoking room and there was no smoke smell at all the corridors or room

One of the best customer service from the front desk that I have experienced in a long time. 石妍艳 (I think her name is Arial) upgraded my Tatami room to a large king size room and she personally lead us to the room. She added me to her Wechat and forwarded some food guides in Yangzhou. The room is clean. Location is excellent if you want to visit the Dongguan Old Street and the many restaurants within walking distant. She offered to deliver some desserts to our room int he evening. Upon checking out, there was a gift waiting for us. It was a box of the famous candy from Yangzhou. Thanks to 石妍艳 and her colleague for their nice hospitality and gestures.

Excellent value for the price. We had a suite which was big and clean. The staff was friendly and offered me an extra breakfast voucher for my son. Although we didn’t try them, there were a couple good looking Korean restaurants on the ground floor. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from Times Square and a 7-minute walk from my favorite Vietnamese restaurant.

We received a complimentary upgrade, as we had not yet received our purchased tickets to Nianhua Wan due to not having the China identity (as informed by trip agent & hotel). The breakfast provided was satisfying, offering a good start to our day. Despite the hotel's older appearance, it is well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I recently stayed at the Novotel Suzhou SIP, located conveniently by the beautiful Jinji Lake in Suzhou Industrial Park. The hotel is perfectly situated with easy access to cultural landmarks like the Suzhou Culture and Arts Center, Moon Harbor, Eslite Bookstore, and major shopping areas such as Shin Kong Place. Additionally, its proximity to the Cultural Expo Center metro station makes it an excellent choice for travelers. During my stay, I was deeply impressed by the professionalism and attentiveness of the front desk staff, particularly Cathy. She went above and beyond to make sure my check-in process was smooth and my questions were addressed with care. The room was spacious, well-equipped, and had a modern design that added to the comfort. I also appreciated the hotel’s wide range of facilities, including the indoor heated swimming pool and the on-site dining options, such as the Gourmet Bar and the Chinese and Western restaurants. Overall, my experience at Novotel Suzhou SIP was exceptional. The combination of its prime location, excellent amenities, and outstanding service makes it a top choice for anyone visiting Suzhou, whether for business or leisure. Highly recommended!

Good location with a metro station next door and many shopping centres and restaurants nearby. The rooms are of very good size. Booking a Club room with a small extra cost allows you to have a room on the higher floor and access to the executive lounge. Checkout time is 12pm but the hotel was happy to give me another extra 2 hours. There are a very limited number if rooms with (partial) a lake view.

Indeed a perfect hotel location in Suzhou! Clean and big hotel, walking distance to 平江路 and it’s just next to 拙政院東出口. You will never get bored by staying this area! Cons: due to its very near to tourist spots location, the traffic is super bad. I’ve been waiting for 1 hour for my didi to arrive and head to Suzhou station, never take other transportation due to having super big luggage.

Extremely friendly staff, make us feel at home, located in the center of （观前街）walking street. Breakfast has good selections. Supper clean, We are very happy with our choice of this hotel.

My wife and me stayed at the Garden Hotel Suzhou from 02 to 06 December 2023. This is an excellent hotel with a large compound with several low rise buildings. Location is excellent with ample shops and dining options all around the hotel. The room is large enough and better than most other hotels. Breakfast spread is very good with enough western and eastern varieties. Staff are friendly and helpful. Taxis are easy and conveniently arranged with the help of hotel staff. If we do go to Suzhou again, we will stay at the Garden Hotel Suzhou again.

I have never felt so compelled to write a review for a hotel. Our stay at Jinling Mandarin Garden Hotel Nanjing was a disappointing one. First of all the theme room we reserved was a very small room with view of another building with absolutely no privacy. The corridor and the room reeked of cigarette smoke at all time. So much so we had to turned off the centralised cooling system and rely on a fan I requested from the front desk. Anyway the cooling system was set at 23 and felt very stuffy. The light in the toilet turned off after a certain period and the motion sensor was not the most sensitive. I paid for comfort and do not appreciate to be dictate when and how to use them. I like my room to be 20C and lights on during the time I’m in the shower however long it takes. And absolutely do not appreciate to be subjected to inhale secondhand smoke for the last 2 days. It was a birthday celebration that has been ruined, not only that you didn’t take note of the request, first was given a room without a bathtub then we finally settled with one that has one but stank with cigarettes smell and with absolutely no view. Breakfast was very average but sufficient, full unhappy staffs standing around. Coffee was excellent though. Beside the good location right next to Fuzimiao that’s nothing good about the hotel unfortunately. It takes lots of tourist groups so the breakfast area gets very busy. For the price we paid there are many more better hotels to choose from in the area. My biggest regret in this trip.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a good experience. The hotel was nicely designed, and the staff were friendly (Xiao Qin, Xiao Cha and the supervisor). They also recommended places to visit and guided us on how to travel around the area. Their service was great as they assisted us with issues we faced and even helped to upgrade our room. The location was also very convenient for navigating around, as it’s near the Metro station and also close to the food street with many dining options! Overall, I would recommend this hotel for its great service and convenient location.

The hotel is new, the prices are average. 1. Room cleaning is not every day, for 5 nights it was cleaned only 4 times. 2. Dirty bathroom, fungus grows on bathroom furniture. 3. Breakfast does not match the description, ”European breakfast” but it is typical Chinese cuisine. Food is constantly scarce. A lot of dirty dishes. 4. The staff of the boys at the reception (staff) are not professionals, hes work slowly, they register at the hotel for a very long time. My score is 3 out of 5 points ⚠️. The hotel administration needs to check the qualifications of their staff, there are very few professionals. I would like to come back to the hotel later and make sure that they have corrected the mistakes.😉

Great location close to metro to get to the office everyday, while also being near to the tourist area for a chance to see a bit of Nanjing of an evening. Plenty of food options around. Only downside was the light switches are led and bright - eye mask recommended if you like a dark room. Not the newest hotel around, it was comfy, clean and had everything I needed. The wifi worked for me (not the case in some hotels I stayed in on this trip). The room was spacious, and the sitting area handy to keep luggage etc out of the way. Unfortunately no view from the window, but the window did open, which was nice. The English name on the door was Grand Comfy Hotel

The room was a bit dark and spoky, restaurant enough only for 10-15 person, the staffs couldn't speak English, and each hotel guest have to be taken pictures one by one when I asked why he said for face recognition access door, buat he gave us card to open the room door.

整個理想村視野最好的咖啡店是有光，視野最好的民宿是原舍平湖，都是正對着湖光山色。 走進民宿就被牆頭垂下的凌霄花吸引，辦理入住非常快捷，我們比入住時間提前了一小時到達，在房源不緊張的情況下前台美女果斷讓我們提前入住，並且幫我們升級了親水房，並有人送我們到達房間。進了房間空調已經提前打開了，非常涼爽，整個服務非常貼心。 親水房臨街和泳池，有小陽台，視野非常讓人舒服，在人流量不大的情況下沒有什麼私隱和噪音方面的困擾。衞生間乾濕分離，有浴缸，因為孩子玩水地面很容易潮濕，擔心房間濕氣大，但是意外的是地面幹得很快，體感也沒有很受影響。 無邊泳池面對着湖水和滿山竹林，水面時有白鷺、灰鷺飛過。泳池水最深1.1米，衹要不是特別小的寶寶，孩子基本可以放手，讓他們自己玩水，解放家長的好地方。 整個理想村也很適合家庭親子，對寵物也很友好，娛樂活動有垂釣，皮划艇和槳板，無動力遊樂園，小動物餵養，以及免費露營草坪，同時也有可以提供露營工具的收費露營地。村子雖然不大，但我們兩天安排得滿滿的，一點也不無聊，孩子爸爸釣魚也釣盡興了，釣上來的魚甚至可以請餐廳收費加工，當場加菜。非常愉快一次度假，孩子強烈要求下次還來理想村，還住這家民宿。

Still building in the area, will be great in a few years. Not far from metro or major shopping malls. Good swimming pool!

Good service by the hotel once I arrived the hotel someone help me to open the door and someone help me with the luggages until my room. That service staff is an elderly which I truly respected him for hold on this job responsibility. Check in procedure is fuss free as well. Kudos to all the staff there. We get to see a lot of fireworks from our room

There are shuttles from the traveler center to each hotel. All the service staff is so friendly and gave clear instructions. The hotel room is very clean and the bed is comfortable. Breakfast is really delicious and served on the food street ( not within the hotel). The performance shows were beautiful at night and day time as well. Different scenic views and restaurants are within walking distance.

The hotel is in a scenic location and very close to the Wuxi lake and Lingshan Buddha, the local food was great and the staff were very friendly. There were a few downsides, the all-day dining restaurant was closed, the restaurants in the village closed very early and very few staff spoke English or even knew who to direct us to for help. The staff however, after a few mistakes, went out of their way to help us and resolve some of the issues. The gentleman working at the pool area was great, the swimming pool and billiard room were awesome. The village had many shows throughout the day, many cafes and a lot of cute cats that were really friendly.

作為老牌的連鎖酒店，服務和環境還是不錯的。宜興這一家的開元的位置還是很優越的，馬路對面就是風景區。晩餐後散個步，看個夜景，非常愜意的。我們入住的房間窗外視野很開闊哦。 入住的時候酒店就贈運了伴手禮- -小花生茶寵；離店的時候還贈送了1⃣️瓶農夫山泉和雪碧1⃣️罐。

This is one of the best hotels we stayed in China recently. I was so pleasantly surprised in its location right in the middle of the famous Nantang Street, where restaurants and activities spill over to night time. The hotel is refurbished from a traditional style Chinese building and has a warm tone to it. The service was spectacular. Before our arrival, hotel staff Xiao Liu already started to liaise with me to ensure I know how to tell driver the location. Then he awaited at the stop to help me with luggage. During our stay, he was attentive and catered to all our needs with a great attitude. We will definitely be back at this hotel and explore more of Wuxi soon!!

We only booked 1 night to explore the city. Upon arrival the reception told us we have to go do a PCR test (although we had a valid 24hr test when checking in). We went from one testing site to another, nowhere could they help us because we weren’t registered living in Wuxi. Then they told us we don’t need a test because we are leaving again the next day. We spent our whole day looking for a PCR testing site - didn’t get to do anything else. Rooms were good, just extremely hot. Even when you turn the airconditioner on, the room was about 26 degrees the whole time.

第一次要給自己認真選定的酒店不太好的評價了，就為一個點上的瑕疵。想想算是給酒店一個建議，給後面遊客一個提醒吧。酒店大堂豎了塊醒目的提示牌，到高鐵站有免費接駁車（見附圖），這本是服務遊客的一個亮點，是酒店的加分項，我也跟前台確認了有這項服務，每天定時定點發車。我按乘一點三十分班車預訂了回上海的高鐵票，並預留了一個半小時餘地（被告知車程30一45分鐘）。昨天退房後一點十五分到達候車點，看到發車點有大巴停着充電，就放心等候，結果等到一點四十還無發車跡象，就前去詢問那位中年男司機（此時就此一輛車，一名司機），不料他輕飄飄一句這班車取消了，跟他説我們要趕高鐵，結果當然是不關我事。隨後花60元打了輛網約車得以順利返程。倒不是在意這點車資，而是有一種被忽悠被無視的感覺，實在是不爽。或許酒店會感到委曲，但我以為無法把控的服務可以不提，或者明明白白告訴遊客有接駁車，但不一定能用上。酒店好的方面就不説了，遊客心理。
