There’s always a better way.
That’s been our internal motto since we launched in March 2002, and it is now the New Atlas tag line.
Humankind’s understanding of Planet Earth and all within it has grown more in the last few decades than in all prior history, and we feel privileged to have documented a significant part of that progress.
There’s little chance anyone will be doing anything the same way a decade from now, and our mission is to highlight the most important steps along the way – as well as innovations that can make life better day-to-day.
We’re a fiercely independent news organization, and have been reliably consistent for 22 years. Our obligation is to our readership.
Since 2002, we’ve produced more than 100,000 articles covering advances in technology, science, transportation, architecture, design, and many other disciplines. We have a readership of five plus million unique visitors a month, and more than 180,000 people receive our email newsletter each day.
Our primary audience is in the USA, Canada, Europe and Australia, but we have readers all over the globe.
New Atlas is dedicated to delivering reliable, no-nonsense journalism. Our editing and checking system has been developed over 20 years to ensure consistency, accuracy, and transparency. We are 100% independent and self-funded, we write our own articles, and our opinions are not for sale.
We respect and value the opinions of our readers, and we aim to inspire, not ridicule.
