  • At AfriLabs, our mission is to catalyze innovation and drive sustainable development across Africa. Yesterday, we witnessed a significant milestone that aligns perfectly with our goals and moonshot vision. H.E. President Dr. William Samoei Ruto inaugurated the Timbuktoo GreenTech Hub and the Africa Regional Centre of Competence for Digital and AI Skilling at Konza Technopolis in Nairobi, Kenya. These initiatives underscore Kenya’s commitment to fostering green technology solutions and empowering the next generation of digital leaders. The Timbuktoo GreenTech Hub launch aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the overall timbuktoo’s ambition to mobilise US$1 billion of catalytic and commercial capital. Further, the programme aims to support 10,000 startups, scale over 1,000 and positively impact 100 million lives across Africa. On the other hand, the Africa Regional Centre of Competence for Digital and AI Skilling is set to: * Train 100,000 public servants from across Africa in digital skills and AI. * Provide a three-year cohort-based curriculum with tailored training and mentorship. * Grant access to a regulatory sandbox for product prototyping and commercialization. AfriLabs Executive Director, Anna Ekeledo, joined Ahunna Eziakonwa, Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the Regional Bureau for Africa at UNDP, Eng. John Kipchumba Tanui, MBS, PS State Department of ICT and Digital Economy, Konza Technopolis Chief Executive Officer, John Paul Okwiri, OGW, MBA, MCIPS, Anthony Ngororano – UNDP Resident Representative in Kenya, among other distinguished dignitaries. These initiatives are a testament to the power of collaboration in achieving sustainable development and digital transformation. AfriLabs is keen on forging partnerships to scale and shape a brighter and sustainable future. #AfriLabs #Innovation #Sustainability #DigitalTransformation #Timbuktoo #AfricaCetreofCompetence
