Congratulations to the selected individuals for the YOCARAIP 2024-B Cohort. Today, the entire team led by Olawole Tunmise Olagbaju welcomed the first intern of the 2024-B Cohort into our Young Cattle Ranchers Internship Programme (YOCARAIP)! 🎉 Three more interns are set to join us in the coming days, and we couldn't be more excited to kick off this transformative journey. The team wasted no time and began with an orientation session to introduce our intern to the essentials of modern ranching. To make the day even more practical, we engaged in a critical aspect of livestock management — sheep tagging. 🐑 Why is livestock tagging important? ✔️ Identification: Each animal is uniquely tagged to maintain accurate records. ✔️ Health Management: Easier to monitor health, vaccinations, and treatments. ✔️ Breeding Programs: Helps track parentage and improve breed performance. ✔️ Efficient Ranch Operations: Ensures smooth handling and management of livestock. At RPC Cattle Hub, we're committed to equipping young Africans with the skills and knowledge to revolutionize livestock production. THE DREAM IS BECOMING A REALITY! AgroNucleus is a word that was compounded from Agriculture and Nucleus but that is not the genesis. A quick flash back... During my undergraduate days, I've always been engaging my colleagues having discussion about agriculture, a few engage so well, some shows the eagerness, while others always want to change topic despite the fact that they were studying an agriculture course. I furthered by engaging those who showed no interest despite the fact that they are spending 5+ years in school studying the course, I realized what possible might be the issue and I started making consultation on how to find solution to that. Nigeria is a country where #Agriculture contributes over 20% GDP, a country where Agriculture hires the highest labour, a country whose major source of economy was Agriculture. What now happens when those who are currently practicing finally retire? To tackle the less interest of youth in agriculture which must have been influenced by different reason, I met with some of my friend and shared my vision of solving the challenge of youth inclusiveness in agriculture and some synced well with me and AgroNucleus started from there. The mission is to exhibit the beauty of agriculture through innovation and technology. AgroNucleus is an agro-media brand dedicated to transforming agriculture through information and innovation. We provide cutting-edge content, insights, and resources to farmers, agribusinesses, and agricultural enthusiasts. Our offerings include digital media platforms, educational content, industry reports, and expert analysis to support the agricultural sector in adapting to new technologies and practices. The believe is, when people see reasons why they should practice or get engaged in something, their interest will definitely increase. We are building the largest community for agriculture in Nigeria and beyond. A community that would transform and sustain the practice of agriculture in achieving food security leveraging technology.
