𝙈𝙮 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙌𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩, 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙈𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙨, 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨, 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚, 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨! How it all started! Ride with me. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙌𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩: My passion for the oil and gas industry grew through the SPE Rivers State University Student Chapter. Technical events and field trips sparked a desire for an internship, seeking to apply classroom knowledge to real-life problems and gain practical industry insights. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙈𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙨: Before our 400L first-semester exams, I applied for internships with various IOCs, but received no feedback. Undeterred, I leveraged a network from a conference to secure a placement at AOS Orwell Limited This marked the beginning of my promising career, providing valuable experience and knowledge in the energy sector. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨: Upon joining AOS Orwell Limited I underwent induction and familiarized myself with the organizational structure. I was then assigned to the Casing and Tubular Running department, where I learned about and worked with specialized equipment crucial for well completion and operations. As a girl in STEM, I sought hands-on experience, and my department provided the necessary support. I gained valuable insights into physical jobs, going beyond theoretical knowledge and developing practical skills in a dynamic work environment. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚: My internship experience encompassed equipment inspection, maintenance, and tracking using the T-Card System. I participated in technical tasks, equipment testing, and safety protocols, collaborating with the team. I was particularly interested in the T-Card system and the CRTi volant, a mechanical tool for running casing. Despite its complex mechanism, I found it fascinating. This experience gave me valuable insights into equipment management and deployment during casing and tubular running operations, enhancing my understanding of the industry. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨: AOS Orwell felt like family, providing a loving environment that boosted my confidence and skills. I worked closely with supervisors and colleagues, learning teamwork, communication, and coordination. My internship experience spanned workshops, administration, and teamwork, shaping me into an active team member. My industrial training at AOS Orwell was an incredible experience, and I am immensely grateful to God Almighty for His guidance throughout this period. Also, special thanks to my, supervisors, colleagues, SPE STUDENT CHAPTER RIVERS STATE UNIVERSITY, SPE Port Harcourt Section my course mates and friends, Ikechukwu Chibunudu Wealth Nancy Chiburoma Amadi, and, Nadum Shalon for their support, and my president, Emeka Nwankwo for his continuous contributions and support throughout this phase. Cheers to more experience within the energy sector! #internship #GirlinStem #Wearespe

  • Last week, we successfully held an impactful HSE Campaign at our Bonny Island station, home to 456 dedicated staff members who form the backbone of our operations at the location. The highlight of the event was a keynote address on Diabetes Mellitus. The insightful session delved into understanding the condition and provided practical steps in managing blood sugar levels through healthy lifestyle choices, including balanced diets, regular exercise, and stress management. At AOS Orwell, we place a high value on the well-being of our people, recognizing that their health is pivotal to our collective growth.
