Bowen Finance Society recently completed their first semester theme “navigating careers in finance” . We had the privilege of showcasing diverse career paths available in the finance sector. Our first semester was packed with exciting events, including TEDx and the Bridge Conference, in addition to our regular classes. Despite the busy schedule, our team worked tirelessly to host successful sessions. We would like to take this opportunity to recognize and celebrate our most active member, who demonstrated exceptional diligence and commitment to our sessions. Alagbe Happiness is a 400 level accounting student, currently holding the position as the Academic Director of NUASA and overseeing the affairs of the 400 level accounting (class rep). His favorite color is be Black. Interestingly, in accounting the color black "refers to a company's profitability and financial health.” It means that a company is solvent and has positive earnings after all expenses are accounted for; while for him it denotes a distinct feature of boldness and no room for emotional attachment. He is intrigued about corporate finance because it deals with a crucial aspect of the financial management of a company. Happiness Alagbe

Thank you sir for taking out time to grace us with your time and presence. Now we know how important that tax profession is and the impact we can make in it. What do you know about the tax professsion?

Student Doctor || Biochemistry Major || Advocate for Financial Literacy

☀️Challenge Day 2 My newfound love, personal finance, came to me passively. It started with my mum taking it upon herself to educate us about money habits. I was happy to learn from her and apply her advice in my personal life. I cannot ignore my mother's impact on my current interest in personal finance; she taught me about budgeting and building healthy habits with money. She gave me insights on investing and a lot more. It did not stop there; I wanted to know more. I started researching personal finance and stumbled upon the Bowen Finance Society in the process. The society has helped provide educational resources. They host webinars and different finance-related activities. Through the society, I found the Meristem Orientation for Rising Entrepreneurs (MORE) by Meristem Nigeria which I am currently enrolled in. So far, I have learned about practical savings, budgeting, and investment. I have also learned about the investment market, instruments, and regulations. I am still learning and having the best time while at it. Financial literacy is so important yet ignored and it takes intentional effort to be informed. I am encouraging everyone to start building healthy financial habits. I hope this post was helpful. I will see you in the next post! 🥰 #30DayChallenge #PersonalGrowth #personalfinance #money
