When Benedicta set out to fundraise for the Games Village IDP camp, transparency was her top priority — she wanted to ensure donations went directly to the cause. She searched for a crowdfunding platform that was accessible to Nigerians and easy to use. Crowdr stood out with its user-friendly interface, refund feature, and strong community focus. After some research, she launched her campaign and successfully raised 399,000 naira to provide food and share hope at the camp. 💚

About us
We were inspired to build Crowdr after witnessing the willpower of Nigerians during the #EndSARS protests, despite the lack of infrastructure to facilitate a social uprising of this scale. We wanted to build a platform that would empower Nigerians — and eventually all Africans — to create positive impact in their communities. The result? Crowdr: a social-good marketplace linking non-profits, volunteers and donors committed to creating positive changes in their communities. Our mission is simply to connect passionate people with meaningful causes. Whether you're a nonprofit seeking support for your initiatives or an individual looking to lend a helping hand, Crowdr provides the tools and resources to turn your vision into reality. Last week, we had the opportunity to support the Lagos chapter of AIESEC Nigeria with a blood drive! We facilitated volunteer management through our platform, helping them vet and easily track signups. We also provided transportation discounts via Bolt, marketing materials, and refreshments. I had an incredible time volunteering as a coach for the Black Girls in Tech hackathon at Atlantic Hall High School last week! It was such a rewarding experience helping the students work through problem-solving scenarios and watching their excitement as they came up with creative solutions. I also had the chance to talk to them about my work at Crowdr | Crowdfund in Nigeria where we leverage tech to create impact through fundraising and volunteering. We discussed different career paths in tech, and it was great to see how many possibilities resonated with them—from software development to project management and beyond. It’s always inspiring to work with the next generation of tech talent! 💻✨ #BGIT #TechForGood #Hackathon #STEM #Crowdr #InspiringYouth

Feedback like this keep us running! Agnes Onyekwere is the founder of Project MEND (Alherin Mata), an initiative that empowers low-income women in Ogun state with sewing skills - to foster financial independence. Recently, she launched a campaign on Crowdr and because of the donations received, was able to host an Adire training for the women! This training helped them learn to craft backpacks made with our local Adire material and the bags are now available for pre-order! 👏🏽 https://selar.co/73703c

Our team had a lovely time meeting with the super gifted students at Bethesda Home & School for the Blind. Operating since 2001, Bethesda provides visually-impaired students in Nigeria with special equipment, meals, and a safe environment to live in. As a non-profit, they operate 100% through donations. You can support the students by contributing to their crowdfunding campaign: https://lnkd.in/g9zt7V_V Some of their students have gone on to graduate with first-class law degrees, and are incredibly talented at playing musical instruments, crafting and more. ⭐️ #bethesdaschoolfortheblind #crowdfunding #abilityindisability #blind #viduallyimpaired #accessibility
