Our CEO, Omorinsola Ipaye , a member of Women In Healthcare Network was at the first WIHCN Annual Conference at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Lagos, Nigeria The conference gave an opportunity for female business leaders across the healthcare value chain to engage in insightful discussions and channel those discussions into actionable plans and projects. It was a great experience for Efunpo Pharma to participate in the Nigeria Pharma Manufacturers' Expo holding from September 4th-5th 2024 This is a biannual exhibition and conference showcasing the best of the Nigerian local manufacturing industry. It’s impressive to see how well Nigerian pharma businesses have innovated, scaled up capacity and product portfolio , improved their product branding and packaging in the wake of exits of the multinational big pharmas. It was pleasing to hear from the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) DG, Prof Mojisola Adekeye, the ground breaking work being done to increase local production capacity and reduce the country’s dependence on foreign imports, a roadmap to create medicine security for our country and the continent at large. She called their work at the drug regulator, “common sense regulation” Our CEO Omorinsola Ipaye was at the PMG-MAN CEO conference.

As a member of PMG-MAN, Efunpo participated at the 2024 Industry Engagement Forum focused on the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing sector. The high level stakeholders meeting was jointly organised by the IFC - International Finance Corporation , AFDB and Unitaid in partnership with the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr Ali Pate under the leadership of the National Coordinator of the Presidential Unlocking Healthcare Value Chain Initiative (PVAC), Dr Abdu Mukhtar. This participation provided us with deep insights as manufacturers to assess the markets and critically determine areas of market demand, expansion and growth to fuel the production of essential medicines for the African continent. It also spoke on green chemisty and engineered conversations on climate friendly manufacturing practices .
