On Children’s Day, I discussed the pressing issues facing Nigerian children on Channels TV. The conversation delved into the 2013 National Policy on Education, highlighting the gap between policy formulation and implementation. One of the critical challenges is ensuring that basic needs, like nutrition, are met before meaningful learning can occur. With 20 million Nigerian children out of school, the scale of the problem is immense. Our discussion covered the importance of addressing these foundational issues, such as providing proper training for teachers, securing adequate funding, and ensuring the overall health of children. These are essential steps in creating an environment where education can truly thrive.
