More than 1,000 students participated in plastic waste collection, learned about waste segregation, and established a Student-Led Sustainability Club. The Global Environmental and Climate Conservation Initiative (GECCI) experienced a remarkable year in 2024, marked by impactful activities, strategic collaborations, and significant strides towards environmental sustainability. With a strong emphasis on climate action, biodiversity conservation, and community empowerment, GECCI expanded its reach, driving positive change across both local and global landscapes. This report highlights GECCI's key activities and achievements throughout 2024. GECCI partners with over 300 governmental and non-governmental organizations worldwide, including the United Nations Information Center Nigeria, African Union Great Green Wall Initiative (AU GGWI), and the International Human Rights Commission. It maintains a strong presence in Nigeria, with directors in all 36 states and Abuja, supported by state-level presidents for localized leadership.. Achievements and Initiatives Since its inception, GECCI has executed over 300 high-impact projects globally, focusing on raising awareness and mobilizing youth to combat environmental pollution and climate change. GECCI plays an active role in global climate initiatives, having co-organized side events and hosted pavilions at major international forums, including: UNGA 79 and the Summit of the Future (SOTF) in 2024. VI BRICS Youth Energy Summit in Moscow, 2024. Drought Resilience +10 Conference in Geneva UNFCCC COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Nigeria Climate and Security Conference 2024, held across four Nigerian states. Hosting a pavilion at UNCCD COP16 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
