We are thrilled to announce that we've been selected for the prestigious Google for Startups fund! 🎉 The Black Founders Fund was launched by Google in 2020 to help tackle systemic racial inequality in venture capital (VC) funding by providing equity-free grants and mentoring to early stage Black-led high-growth businesses across Europe and Africa. Out of the impressive pool of over 4,000 startups that applied, we are honored to be one of the 25 startups across Africa chosen for this incredible opportunity. This funding marks a significant milestone in our journey as we continue to pursue our mission of establishing the first bank for women in Nigeria (and Africa)! Each selected startup will be given up to $150,000 (grant) up to $200,000 in cloud credits, ad support, 1:1 mentoring by industry experts, and invaluable connections within Google’s network. This funding has come at the right time because we are currently in the process of raising our $2,000,000 seed round. And this fund will add towards that goal. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire Google for Startups team for their belief in our vision and the support they have shown us. With this partnership, we are excited to embark on the next phase of our growth, working hand in hand to bring the first bank for women to life. In January 2024, I shared a post about saving different amounts by the end of the year, and it went viral! So many people wanted to join in and start saving. As usual, I asked my cousins, 'How far? Should we save?' The response was incredible, and we embarked on the most fulfilling journey yet. With so many people from different income brackets, we had to split into two groups.
