I joined other stakeholders at the National Digital Economy and E-Governance Bill stakeholders’ engagement in Ilorin, yesterday. From the insightful presentations, it’s clear that the Bill will provide incredible support for entrepreneurs, especially our youth. I sincerely hope it scales through at the National Assembly. As a government, we are proud to support technologically-driven initiatives, with this bill being a significant step in streamlining government activities, enhancing relations, improving administration, and strengthening citizen engagement. Nigeria is transitioning into a real digital economy, and here in Kwara State, the H.E. Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration remains committed to advancing this agenda. 🇳🇬 The National Digital Economy & E-Governance Bill Stakeholder Engagement in Kwara State was a critical step in advancing Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda. The event provided a platform to dissect the draft bill delivered by lawfirm Duale, Ovia & Alex-Adedipe, share insights, and offer suggestions for shaping its final structure. One of the key proposals in the bill is the recognition of electronic documents, electronic communication and digital signatures for business transactions and in the legal system—superseding older laws that mandate physical/paper/written documentation. It also outlines strategies to promote E-Governance across all levels of government, making governance more transparent, efficient, and accessible. It was a privilege to help coordinate and deliver an engagement that brought diverse perspectives to the table. These moments of collaboration are vital as we lay the foundation for a more connected, tech-driven Nigeria.
