About us

IPTLC University of Ibadan is a STUDENT-RUN organization whose establishment seeks to educate and encourage students to learn how intellectual property law impacts innovation, technology, and culture. The focus of the society is to provide students with the means to explore intellectual property related topics through discussions, seminars, research, and internships. Major topics of interest include patents, copyrights, trademarks, licensing, trade secrets, technology, cybersecurity, and new cases and legislation impacting any of these. However, intellectual property does not exist in a vacuum, it is intertwined with all aspects of society. Issues to be discussed in the club includes internet and technology issues, digital privacy issues, electronic contracts, Image rights, entertainment issues, social media and the law, and proprietary interests in intellectual property reform.
