  • At JDBrightSky, we are committed to driving meaningful change in the African agriculture sector by supporting farmers' transition from subsistence farming to commercial crop production. Our team is working tirelessly to build farmers' capacity by providing them with the skills, knowledge, and tools needed to scale their operations. Through our hands-on support, we ensure that farmers not only grow more but also grow better, meeting market demands while improving their livelihoods. Our approach focuses on empowering farmers through holistic training programs that cover everything from modern farming techniques to effective crop management and financial planning. We believe that with the right resources and guidance, farmers can unlock their full potential, becoming key players in sustainable food production and contributing to the African economy. This transformation is not just about increasing yields, it's about fostering long-term growth and stability. By transitioning to commercial crop production, farmers can access structured markets, increase their income, and improve their families' quality of life. At the same time, we are supporting local and global economies by promoting efficient farming practices that reduce waste and optimize resource use. At JDBrightSky, we believe agriculture is the backbone of rural development. Our mission is to build a resilient agricultural sector, one that creates opportunities for farmers and helps feed the growing population. Together, we will build a food-secure and prosperous African continent. #AgricultureInnovation #FarmersFirst #SustainableFarming #CommercialFarming #JDBrightSky

As we continue to deliver on our integrated solutions aimed at, amongst other things, solving issues around poverty, food insecurity, and rural underdevelopment, we recognize the need to consistently and robustly provide the right type of support to smallholder farmers (who we call Technical Professionals) who will then better leverage private capital not just to meet their immediate needs but also actively contribute to building global businesses that are profitable, sustainable, and impactful. From September to December 2024, we will be supporting participants in the 2023 GB Links Africa Academy Pre-Cohorts Capacity-Building Modular Program to update their own company strategy document that will communicate their plans to sustainably create opportunities for young and senior people through operations and investments in sectors around agriculture, education,  and very soon energy even as we prepare for entry into other sectors and industries. Although they are all starting at a small-scale level, they are encouraged to, amongst other things, imagine, work hard, and collaborate to directly and indirectly build mid-to-large scale businesses.   Furthermore, September will also be the last month for the participants to finalize their preparation ahead of the onboarding of participants in the first stream of the 2024 GB Links Africa Academy Pre-Cohorts Capacity-Building Modular Program. Their preparation is expected to drive more productive collaborations amongst all the participants and lead to the achievement of win-win situations of short-, mid-, and long-term shared interests for themselves and the society at large. Unlike other future cohorts, everyone in the 2023 GB Links Africa Academy Pre-Cohorts Capacity-Building Modular Program started with a similar background in crop production, however, their respective “impact paths” will not all be similar. Every week from September 9, 2024, will be focused on training and supporting the participants in designing and executing their “Impact Path” for contributing to the achievement of shared prosperity in Africa and Globally. We are looking forward to soon sharing the results we will co-create alongside the participants in both Cohorts.

80% of people in 170 countries of the world live in countries that are either stagnant or declining on the World Social Progress Ladder @socialprogress.org Based on the World Social Progress Index Report 2024 (socialprogress.org/2024), 170 countries were studied, the countries were grouped in tiers based on Social Progress Performance recorded over the years (Tier 1-6), out of which only 33 countries recorded significant social improvement, 77 countries remain stagnant, and 61 countries saw a decline on the World Social Progress Ladder, with Vietnam, China, Moldova, Uzbekistan, and Sierra Leone topping the world social ladder and Venezuela, Lebanon, Syria, Mali, and Brazil waxing at the bottom of the world Social Progress ladder. Leaving the World on C+ Social Progress rating. 57 data points were grouped into 3 major indicators (Basic needs, Well-being, and Opportunity) used to analyze the World's Social Progress. Continents of the world need to wake up, challenge the status quo, and reject business as usual. We need to develop and scale inclusive and transparent economic solutions capable of addressing the social disparity being witnessed over the decades. Contributing our quota to addressing the social disparity, the SP Impact Community is on a journey to help Africa achieve food security, sustainable and inclusive industrialization, and shared prosperity by 2030, by providing robust and impact-driven capacity-building activities, community support, and capital (equity and debt across the seed, early-stage, and late-stage investment stages). The SP Impact Community is building and supporting a team of impact-oriented dreamers, thinkers, and doers who take a level of personal responsibility for what happens in Nigeria, Africa, and the World, and would work hard and smart to move the needle in various, sectors, and industries of the global economy as possible. People who would not only work for their benefit but will also work for the benefit of others irrespective of ethnicity, religion, skin color, race, etc. We believe that the only way to achieve this reality in Africa and other parts of the World is through collaboration and excellent and thoughtful (data-driven) ideation and execution of impact-driven Businesses and resilience funds to build the Africa and the World we all desire while providing large returns on capital to providers of capital.
