  • It is Christmas season and despite the economic crunch, money will still flow. Many will receive bonuses; 13th month pay etcetera. For those with relatives overseas, this is the season of greatest inflow. Those in business will not be left out and will cash in on the boom. Unfortunately, by the time season departs, it often goes with the plenty it brought. This basically has to do with lack of financial planning for most persons. By the way, the abundance that Christmas brought does not disappear into thing air, it simply concentrates in the hands of a few shrewd individuals and corporations. Remember too, as the tide turns and the New Year berths, it will offload its mixed cargo of blessings and school fees; prophecies and house rent, among other January bills. All this in an inflation (34.6%) ridden economy. More than ever before, we need Financial Intelligence skills to stay afloat. In this class with Senior staff of Nestlé Nigeria, we discussed among other things: ▪︎ Choosing investments and strategies to beat inflation ▪︎ How to invest in US Dollars, Gold and other items that are stable during inflation ▪︎ The evolving nature of "Savings" instruments; why we must save (even) during an inflation and where to save. ▪︎ Tips to cultivate Financial discipline ▪︎ How to develop a personal financial map #financialintelligence #PersonalFinancialPlanning

  • Great three day session on Leadership Fundamentals in the 21st Century

View profile for Kunle Adefila FIMC, CMC, MITD, LDS, graphic

Management Consultant | Leadership Expert | Sales & Marketing Coach | Business Negotiations Trainer | Personal Effectiveness Mentor

Leadership in the 21st Century is a constantly evolving matrix. The environment is changing; people in the workplace are changing and business dynamics are rapidly changing. Leaders today must be able to: 1) SET CLEAR DIRECTION: Establish a compelling vision, mission, and strategy. 2) BUILD HIGH-PERFORMING TEAMS: Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. 3) DRIVE INNOVATION AND GROWTH: Encourage experimentation, calculated risk-taking, and creative problem-solving. 4) LEAD BY EXAMPLE: Demonstrate integrity, authenticity, and resilience in leadership. 5) FOSTER A CULTURE OF EXCELLENCE: Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. To deliver on these expectations, today's leaders must Upskill and Reskill regularly. Thus we conducted a three day intensive program for Senior Officers of the "Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency" (NIMASA) on a mix of topics: ▪︎ Fundamentals of Organizational Leadership in the 21st Century ▪︎ Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Dynamics ▪︎ Coaching and Mentoring Essentials ▪︎ Strategic Planning and Execution ▪︎ People Management with Emotional Intelligence ▪︎ Leading and Managing Organizational Change. Thanks to "Retrain Nigeria" for the invitation. #leadershipdevelopment #strategicplanning #organizationaldevelopment #kglprime

  • The legendary Stephen Covey once said: "The key is not to prioritize what's on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities." Personal Effectiveness then goes beyond acquiring productivity skills, it is first of all the ability to discern strategic objectives and direction, and secondly the ability to attain them. In other words, the "Why" and then the "How." Simply put, Personal Effectiveness is an individuals' ability to manage themselves, their time and resources, to maximize productivity and achieve strategic objectives. Some of the benefits for the individual are: ▪︎ Personal adaptability and resilience in a changing environment ▪︎ Enhanced problem-solving and decision-making skills ▪︎ Improved work-life balance ▪︎ Increased competitiveness and productivity ▪︎ Improved teamwork and collaboration. Fostering the Personal Effectiveness growth of their employees, is a deliberate strategy of organizations to achieve the following, among others: 1) Greater productivity 2) Employee wellbeing and retention. 3) Increased organizational innovation and creativity 4) Improved adaptability to change Great time with staff of Union Bank during their conversion program. #Personaleffectivenesscoach #Personalproductivityexpert

We held a Leadership Masterclass for Senior Managers of First Bank recently and amongst other feedback from participants, was their delight that a program on "Business and Industry Analysis" could be so thoroughly enjoyable. Someone observed that no one tried to escape 😄 (which is peculiar for Senior Bank officers). There was full engagement from start to finish and everyone participated actively in the case studies. We made it as practical and relevant as possible, using tools such as SWOT, PESTLE & PORTERS FIVE FORCES in an easy to understand approach. We used 100% local examples and keyed into various leadership principles while answering as many situational questions as possible. When we closed at 5:00pm everyone was still refreshed and willing to wait to take the group picture. 😊 Thank you Kuro @ Purple Plethora Training for this collaboration. #leadershipdevelopment #businessanalytics #salesandmarketingexperts #strategicplanning

  • Advanced Selling Skills required to dominate in a highly competitive financial services environment, must look beyond the ability to persuade; negotiate or manage relationships. These are the fundamentals. Those that drive the sales strategy of organizations must possess insight into market and industry dynamics, contextualized within the domestic and global environment. They must be able to anticipate shifts in economic indices, observe patterns in consumer behavior and create markets through business innovation. It was an intense and exciting session with Senior Business Managers of First Bank as we discussed the topic "Business and Industry Analysis."

How I wish someone had organised such a program for us when we started work back then, so we could have: 1) Understood the flow between Self-Leadership, Collaboration and Workplace Productivity. 2) Develop Self-Awareness; acquire insight into Personality Types, Assertive Communication Skills and adopt critical Organizational Skills. • William Ellery Channing is credited with saying: "It is chiefly through books that we enjoy intercourse with superior minds." And so I spent two days last week ruminating on the timeless classic by Stephen R. Covey: "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People," with select staff of Lotus Bank. Through facilitation, participants were able to navigate and draw personal application from the concepts of Private (Personal) Victory, Public (Team) Victory and Sharpening the Saw (Constant improvement). It was at once a journey down memory lane, as I had first attended a similar session as a staff of a bank around 2006, and also an opportunity to empower others with the tools to win in life. #leadershipexpert #personaleffectivenesscoach

  • Another Masterclass for an award winning client in the financial services sector, on the theme of "Effective Communication for Delivering Memorable Experiences" in the marketplace. The participants having obtained feedback from their colleagues who previously attended the same program, were quite expectant. The competition in this sector is usually driven by technology and innovative products, deployed in relation to both the regulatory and economic environment. However, the defining factor is "people." They weaken or strengthen your brand; they elevate or diminish the customer experience and they determine how well your strategic objectives are executed. Participants were from Sales, Customer Experience Management, Recovery and Quality Management amongst others.

For this, I commend GTBank. This is a great investment in the wellbeing and future of their staff. Up till now, I was usually invited to speak on the topic "Personal Financial Planning" to people between the ages of 40 - 65 years. 90% of the time, the workshop is conducted for people preparing for retirement. Unfortunately for most of those people about to retire, they've already made grievous financial mistakes and lost the opportunity to create wealth. This time around, the session was organised for people who have spent less than three years on the job. This gives them a lot of time to correct wrong foundational concepts about money and bad financial habits, which many have already started. It also gives them ample time to learn and apply sound financial habits that aids wealth creation. Lucky crew.

  • Mentoring the next generation of Sales Leaders

Just as I was entering their academy in Lagos, someone exclaimed behind me: "I know that voice. Sir, your trained me X years ago." It turned out she was a Regional Manager who had been part of my class on "Selling and Negotiation Skills" a couple of years back. After introductions, she stated that the team I was coming to speak to on "Sales and Marketing Strategies" was definitely in for an unforgettable experience. With those words of motivation I set out for Ibadan to share with a group of Business Development officers of the bank, practices and strategies that can Elevate their game in the market place. #strategicselling #salesandmarketingcoach #sellingskills
