About us

Komfot Health is a social impact startup dedicated to providing accessible, compassionate post-abortion care services to women in Nigeria. With 41% of Nigerian women facing complications from unsafe abortions, and only 15% receiving early care, barriers like lack of access, provider bias, shame, and fear prevent timely support. Through our telehealth platform, we offer confidential, stigma-free care, allowing women to receive expert post-abortion services promptly. Komfot Health is committed to bridging the healthcare gap and empowering women to reclaim their health and well-being.

What is bleach doing in a woman’s vaginal canal, and cervix? I saw these from Komfot Health on TikTok, earlier today, and it made me sad, and mad. At the end of the day, the brunt of the damage that the Pro-Forced-Birth people cause, is on women ALONE. Women are being sexually exploited, RAPED, stigmatized, and left to be fed on by wolves(quacks), and boooy do they feed. A “doctor” actually told a car accident victim that she should have FAITH? The pregnancy is non-viable, so faith in what? This desire for control over people’s autonomy, masked as morality, MUST be deeply questioned. I for one, do not believe any pretence of “care for life”, because if that was the case, we would see it loud and clear. What I see instead, is a BLATANT disregard for women’s lives, which is frankly nauseating. Do better, and rediscover your humanity. #PostAbortion #PostAbortionCare #Abortion #AbortionStigma #WomensHealth

  • Happy Holidays.🎄 Here is our updated operation schedule for the holiday period, while we understand the importance of the service that we provide, we also advocate for rest. Our support platforms will still be available but response will be slower. If there’s an emergency, we recommend going to the closest tertiary government hospitals around you. Thank you and we hope you enjoy the holidays.

  • Over 40% of women who seek post abortion care are not offered contraceptives choices. Here’s why that is problematic: 1. Fertility returns 10-14 days after an abortion procedure, they can get pregnant again. 2. The unmet need of contraceptives can lead to future unplanned pregnancy. 3. Finally, contraceptives especially condoms are used to prevent infections after an evacuation procedure because some of these women resume penetrative sex almost immediately. 98% of our clients wanted contraceptive counseling and we offered that, so far 70% of them stuck to using that contraceptive recommended for them.

  • World Sepsis Day: Komfot Health's Commitment to Post-Abortion Care. Today, on World Sepsis Day, we at Komfot Health highlight our pioneering efforts in providing digital post-abortion care services in Nigeria. Our pilot initiative has successfully reached over 20,000 individuals online, with a direct impact on over 1,000 patients. Of these, 5% presented with septic abortion and were promptly referred to nearby tertiary health institutions for specialized care. We are gratified to report that all referred patients are recovering well, demonstrating the life-saving potential of our approach. While our reach may seem modest, it is crucial to remember that each life saved represents a victory against preventable death. We urge sexual health educators and organizations to prioritize post-abortion care in their curricula. This essential service is life saving especially in Nigeria, where abortion is legally restricted. #worldsepsisday #unsafeabortion #septicabortion.

  • World Sexual Health Day: How To Ensure Access to Post-Abortion Care in Nigeria. In Nigeria, accessing comprehensive post-abortion care remains a significant challenge due to various societal, legal, and healthcare system factors. While advocating for policy change is crucial,it is not enough, individuals can also take steps to ensure they receive the care they deserve. Key considerations for seeking post-abortion care: 1. Know your rights: Familiarize yourself with your legal rights regarding reproductive healthcare. We made this easier by sharing content about sexual health and reproductive rights. 2. Seek trusted providers: Identify healthcare providers with experience in post-abortion care who prioritize patient confidentiality. You can ask for referrals from trusted sources. 3. Explore support networks: Connect with organizations and support groups that can provide emotional guidance and resources. By understanding your options and advocating for your needs, you can increase your chances of obtaining the holistic post-abortion care you deserve. Happy world sexual health day. #postabortioncare #worldsexualhealthday #sexualhealthday #abortion
