Improving maternal health by preventing postpartum hemorrhage deaths through wholistic healthcare interventions.

About us

Despite global efforts to reduce maternal mortality, postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) remains a leading cause of maternal deaths, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. In Africa, PPH prevalence ranges from 8.5% to 11.4%, with maternal mortality ratios as high as 545 deaths per 100,000 live births. The lack of access to quality healthcare, inadequate training for healthcare providers, and limited awareness about PPH risks and prevention strategies exacerbate this issue. The MOMSAFE Initiative thus seeks to Reduce the prevalence and impact of postpartum haemorrhage in Africa through improved healthcare access, provider training, community awareness, and strengthened healthcare systems. We do those through various projects across economically marginalised communities. Be a part of the change by volunteering, engaging with us as we co create a safer maternal healthy Africa.
