It’s been an incredible two weeks of online learning, where about 150 women across Bayelsa state in Nigeria have been equipped with various entrepreneurial skills. The "Comfort initiative “ campaign carried out by Nedi’s care Africa initiative in partnership with I am Humanitarian aimed to address menstrual health and hygiene challenges faced by girls in underprivileged communities. By providing access to sanitary pads and menstrual education, the campaign helped to ensure that girls do not miss school during their periods, promoting gender equality in education. You can make a significant difference in empowering girls to manage their menstrual health with dignity and confidence, paving the way for a brighter, more equitable future. Nedi’s Care Africa Initiative, in collaboration with I am Humanitarian, proudly organized a menstrual hygiene sensitization program, reaching 100 young ladies across 4 schools in Borno. Through interactive sessions and educational workshops. We aimed to break the stigma surrounding menstruation and empower these young women with the knowledge and confidence they need to manage their menstrual health effectively. We had a very interactive sessions where participants shared their menstruation experiences and what they learnt from the whole process. In addition to the sensitization program, we distributed sanitary pads to all the participants, ensuring they have the necessary resources to maintain their hygiene. This initiative is a vital step towards promoting health, dignity, and equal opportunities for young girls in Borno.
