  • 📌When we began as an unregistered youth group in 2017, we were driven by passion and purpose, determined to become a movement by #youth, for youth, creating opportunities for young #Nigerians to lead, thrive, and advance sustainable development. Our theory of change has always guided our mission: If young people are aware of their rights, and they are able to communicate and mobilise other young people as servant leaders in their communities, they can build alliances and sit with decision-makers to create programs & policies that will help youth to lead and thrive. It’s been an incredible journey! As we kick off 2025, we want to show you what makes us #NGYouthSDGs. 👉Swipe through to learn who we are, what we do, and discover how you can be part of the change.  Which part of our work inspires you the most? Share your thoughts in the comments, we’d love to hear from you!☺ #PauseLearnAct #NGYouthSDGs #YouthForImpact #SustainableDevelopment

Naija, we have one home, and it’s up to us to protect it! With climate change knocking on our door, our Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) are the plan to fight back. What are NDCs? Simply put, it’s Nigeria’s action plan to reduce carbon pollution, promote renewable energy, protect our forests, adopt climate-smart farming, and turn waste into wealth. These steps aren’t just for government offices, they directly improve our communities with cleaner air, more food, and a safer environment. Thanks to the efforts of Nigeria Youth SDGs Network, young people across the country are stepping up to drive this change. Through awareness, innovation, and action, we’re proving that the future is in our hands. Imagine a Nigeria where we breathe better air, eat healthier food, and suffer fewer disasters. That’s the promise of the NDCs, but it’s a promise we all must keep. Are you ready to take action on climate change and drive meaningful impact in Nigeria? 🌍 The NDC Toolkit is here to guide you! This resource is packed with actionable insights on how Nigeria’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) are tackling climate change through renewable energy, forest conservation, waste management, and more. Whether you’re a student, activist, or just passionate about a greener Nigeria, this toolkit will show you how to play your part in shaping a sustainable future. Click the link below to explore the toolkit and join the movement today! ➡️ https://lnkd.in/d6NbpFsx What’s one small step you can take today to support climate action? It’s an honor to share that I have successfully completed the Youth Activators Lab (YAL) Program, Class of 2024! This journey has been nothing short of transformative, empowering, and inspiring. Over the year, I had the privilege of being part of a program designed by Nigeria Youth SDGs Network to foster systems thinking, meaningful youth engagement, and sustainable leadership in addressing development challenges across Nigeria. The experience has shaped me into a more effective leader and change-maker, ready to tackle complex problems with clarity and purpose. Here are some of the incredible milestones and learnings I’ve gained throughout the program: ✅ Deep Dive into Leadership and Development: Engaging in expert-led sessions on Policy Engagement, Fundraising for Social Development, Youth Mobilization, and Project Management gave me practical insights to elevate my work in social impact. ✅ Hands-On Experience: Understudying NGYouthSDGs programs provided real-world exposure to program management, partnership building, and systems-level thinking. ✅ Networking and Global Perspectives: Connecting with like-minded leaders across Nigeria and learning from global change-makers during our virtual sessions expanded my worldview and solidified the importance of collaboration for sustainable development. ✅ Moderating the International Volunteers Day Panel: It was really a pleasure for me to moderate this impactful event, which united volunteers and development practitioners to celebrate the theme, “Diverse Volunteers, Stronger Communities.” Through YAL, I also had the privilege of representing NGYouthSDGs at various forums, contributing to SDGs advocacy, and collaborating on group projects aimed at fostering youth-led solutions to societal challenges. This program was not just about gaining knowledge but transforming into a leader equipped to drive systems change and inspire others. The friendships, lessons, and networks built during this time will remain invaluable in my journey ahead. As I close this chapter, I step forward with a renewed commitment to creating a positive impact in my community and beyond. To NGYouthSDGs, thank you for designing such an empowering program that continues to shape the next generation of change-makers.

𝑴𝒚 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑱𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒚: 𝑹𝒆𝒇𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒀𝑨𝑳 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎 I'm thrilled to announce the completion of the one-year YAL Program. I'm delighted to reflect on my transformative journey with the YAL Program over the past year. The Youth Activator Lab Fellowship of NGYouthSDGs is a leadership and development program aimed at fostering systematic and promoting meaningful youth engagement in Nigeria. My leadership capacity has undergone significant transformation over the course of the YAL programme. This journey has been nothing short of enlightening, thought-provoking, and transformative. Through the programme, I have had the privilege of learning from experts, connecting with like-minded individuals, and engaging in meaningful discussions that have deepened my understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). One of the most notable ways in which my leadership capacity has evolved is through the various leadership roles I have taken on. I have served as Justice of the University of Ilorin Students' Union, Vice President of Training and Development at the Wikimedia Fan Club, University of Ilorin, and Assistant Director of Research for Alternative Dispute Resolution Society, University of Ilorin. These roles have not only honed my skills in leadership, communication, and problem-solving but have also given me the confidence to take on new challenges. Furthermore, my involvement in various initiatives, such as the Kwara State Pick That Trash initiative, has taught me the importance of collaboration, teamwork, and community engagement. I have also had the opportunity to serve as a rapporteur for NGYouthSDGs on several occasions, which has helped me develop my skills in reporting, documentation, and communication. Recently, I had the privilege of speaking to diverse youths during the International Youth Day Commemoration organized by NGYouthSDGs. This experience was a testament to the growth and confidence I have gained throughout the YAL programme. I am proud to say that my leadership capacity has evolved significantly, and I am now more equipped to drive positive change in my community. The topics, such as Policy Engagement, Fundraising in Social Development, Youth Mobilization, and Project Management, were demystified during the YAL Program, proving significant in my journey as a leader. Also, I was able to connect and network with like-minded people and younger leaders thriving in the Social Development space. I participated in group projects and represented NGYouthSDGs in various discussions and gatherings towards the growth of SDGs Advocacy and Social Development improvements. Overall, the YAL programme has been instrumental in my growth as a leader. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had, and I look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in my community. Thank you so much for bringing the amazing Program, which has transformed us into better change makers.
