December was a month of celebration, learning, and reflection at NSIA-LUTH Cancer Centre. We began with World AIDS Day, reaffirming our commitment to holistic health care. A significant highlight was the 2-day PTW Training led by Mohamed Osama, Managing Director of PTW Africa. Participants from cancer centres nationwide gained advanced skills in radiotherapy quality assurance, focusing on routine maintenance, calibration, and beam delivery accuracy. In collaboration with MedServe and the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, we hosted a heartfelt sendoff for Prof Francis Durosinmi-Etti, OFR. a trailblazer in radiation oncology and the first full professor of Radiation Therapy and Oncology in Nigeria. His five decades of groundbreaking contributions, including pioneering advancements in global radiotherapy, have left an indelible mark on cancer care. The month also saw us celebrate our annual end-of-year party, recognizing the outstanding achievements of our team and reflecting on a year of progress. Additionally, we partnered with Zeeliciousfoods and VelvetyFoods to share a delicious, anti-cancer holiday recipe, proving that healthy eating can be as joyful as it is nourishing.
