Powergas Nigeria, a subsidiary of Powergas Africa is Africa’s largest compressed natural gas (CNG) distributor and pioneer in “off-pipeline gas distribution,” providing CNG to clients where piped natural gas (PNG) is unavailable. CNG vs. LNG: Key Differences Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) are both alternative fuels derived from natural gas. While CNG is compressed into a gaseous state, LNG is cooled to a liquid state for storage and transportation. Key differences include: 1. Storage and transportation: CNG uses high-pressure cylinders, while LNG requires specialized cryogenic tanks. 2. Infrastructure: CNG infrastructure is generally less complex than LNG infrastructure. 3. Applications: CNG is primarily used for vehicles and residential/industrial use, while LNG is used for long-distance transportation and large-scale industries. 4.
