I was honored with the privilege of attending a distinguished invitation extended by the Director General of the World Trade Organization, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala , who graciously hosted Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, at a private women in leadership event during her visit to Nigeria. It is noteworthy that Meghan, whose lineage can be traced back to Nigeria, was bestowed with the Nigerian name "Ifeoma." This very high profile event had in attendance top women leaders from diverse sectors, including Dr. Omobola Johnson (Fmr. Min of Communication and Technology), Hon. Doris Uzoka Anite (Min for Industry, Trade and Investment), Hon. Hanatu Musawa (Min for Art, Culture & Creative Economy), the First Lady of my state, Imo State H.E. Bar Chioma Uzodimma, the amazing Aunty Njide Okonjo-Udochi MD,MPH,MBA,MS FAAFP , the gracious Aunty Folake Ani-Mumuney (the GMD of First Bank Nigeria), the fabulous Aunty Mo Abudu (CEO Ebony Life), the very stylish Dupe Olusola (CEO of Transcorp Hotel), the sweet Aunty Udo Okonjo LL.M Lond, M.IOD UK , inspiring Stephanie Busari of CNN, the warm Nicole Mensah and Ada Nduka Oyom who is doing an impressive work She Code Africa to name a few. It was a truly humbling and honorable experience to be in the presence of inspiring women whom I admire and to be recognized as a leader among them for my work RecyclePoints. My key insight from the event is the importance of fostering a strong "sisterhood" among women by treating each other as sisters, with respect and support. Additionally, it is crucial for women to have male allies to further promote gender inclusion in leadership roles. A heartfelt thank you to Aunty Ngo Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala for this esteemed opportunity; I deeply appreciate it and do not take it lightly. #sisterhood #womenleaders #womeninleadership
