Our strategy meeting was set for 1 PM sharp! Let's just say, punctuality varied a bit... 😉 Watch till the end to see who made the cut and who was 'fashionably late'! #Schoolinka #EducatorsCommunity #EdtechinNigeria

Educator: Teaching & Learning expert. I help break down teaching methods and strategies for teachers.
Two Weeks In as an Instructional Design Innovator! Learning online has never been as engaging as it has been in the past two weeks! During our live class sessions, I realized that many of my group members are educational experts—some of whom manage projects and institutions across Africa. As the world transitions further into the digital era, teachers are increasingly positioning themselves to design instruction tailored to diverse learning approaches. This week's module focuses on the principles of instructional design, providing a structured framework to guide our learning. Out of the fifteen principles covered, the one that stood out most to me was active learning, which emphasizes the involvement of learners in the learning process. Throughout my career as an educator and facilitator, I have prioritized engaging learners in the teaching and learning process. This approach has proven effective, as it encourages reflection, allows for assessment of learning objectives, promotes experimentation with new ideas, enhances problem-solving, and fosters continuous feedback—both for my learners and myself—to improve overall teaching outcomes. I am incredibly excited to be part of the first cohort of Schoolinka’s Instructional Design course. As a professional developer, I value this opportunity to enhance my expertise and deepen my impact in the education sector.

#Journeywithme So I had another massive class in the instructional design Schoolinka I learnt about the learning theories and they are 1. Adult learning theory: Andragoy is a learning theory that focuses on adult learning and According to Knowles , it is the art and science of helping adults to learn . One major principles of adult learning is that learning is self directed and experience based . 2. The Behavioural theory: it is the modifying of one’s behavior. It is a psychological theory that focuses on observable behaviors and external stimuli . Learning occurs through interactions with the environment . We also looked at the types of behavioral theory which are classical and operant conditioning. Key principles of this behaviourist. Learning is a behaviors change Environment plays a crucial role Reinforcement is key such as rewards or punishments for learning to take place . Thank You Schoolinka #instructionaldesign #journeywithike #innovation #management .

Last week we had an incredibly insightful meeting at Schoolinka! Stepping away from gadgets and returning to pen, paper, and the blackboard for strategizing felt surprisingly refreshing. It’s been a while since I planned this way, and it almost felt novel. Sometimes, simplicity sparks the best ideas! #Strategy #BackToBasics #Leadership

𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 While going through module two of my 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, the lesson on assessments took me back to a powerful experience I had while working in a previous role. Before teachers were inducted into the training program, they were given a 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 to assess their existing knowledge of the subject matter. I remember seeing scores as low as 𝟮/𝟭𝟬 and sometimes even 𝟬/𝟭𝟬. And I was like "hol up" 😂 At first glance, it might have seemed discouraging. But here’s the incredible part: by the end of just the 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 of training, those same teachers were not only answering those initial questions with ease, they were tackling complex projects that showcased their 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙩𝙝 and 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜. That experience reshaped how I viewed diagnostic assessments. ✅ They aren’t meant to discourage, they’re tools to 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗽𝘀 and set the stage for meaningful learning. ✅ They exist for the 𝙗𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙛𝙞𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙧, helping educators and instructional designers tailor instruction to meet specific needs. I want to thank Schoolinka and my amazing facilitator Aderonke Ayoade. I am truly having a wonderful learning experience so far! #InstructionalDesign #EducationMatters #AssessmentTools #DiagnosticAssessment #LifelongLearning #SchoolinkaIDC1

Brought guys from the Schoolinka team together for two full days last week to engage in a ‘no-slides’ intimate conversation about our work. Apart from Moyosoreoluwa surprising us with a blonde hair, sleeping off during our late night conversation (and he was meant to do the recap the next day 😂), and ordering for Nkwobi at dinner — hoping for a big bowl, but alas - it was what I ordered vs what I got 🤦🏾♂️ 😂 and all the fun characters that everyone brought, we left this space with a renewed commitment to our work and excitements for the next few months. Here is a sneak into what we will be working on: - Double down on learning a lot about the education value chain to uncover learning opportunities. (I might be reaching out here for help) - Launch a TRCN pathway program - Learn more about the appetite for our short courses - Implement second cohort of our Instructional Design Program (you can join the waitlist here: https://lnkd.in/dy2DvZxg ) - Go big on Partnerships - Scale community strength with number goals defined. One of the highlights of this experience was having Rachael Onoja (Head of Innovation and New Markets at AltSchool Africa ) joining us and sharing the story of how AltSchool was built — it was a great session that validated and inspired us. Thanks Rachael! I enjoyed meeting with folks — and I’m looking forward to an amazing 3-5 months ahead. #schoolinka
