At State2State, we understand that lasting reforms are achieved when state partners take ownership and lead the process. To further this objective, State2State is convening a national conference in Abuja on May 8-9, 2024, bringing together members of the State Transformation Committees (STCs) from six states: Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Ebonyi, Gombe, and Sokoto. The STCs play a vital role in ensuring the sustainability and institutionalization of State2State reforms. During the conference, Sara Werth, USAID Nigeria Deputy Mission Director, expressed gratitude to the participants for their dedication and service towards advancing State2State reforms in her opening remarks. #Reforms #governance #partnerships #Adamawa #AkwaIbom #Bauchi #Ebonyi #Gombe #Sokoto

As we progress through the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, State2State organized a roundtable in Bauchi State, bringing together key MDAs, CSOs, and implementing partners. 💡 Highlights: ✔️ The Ministry of Women Affairs shared significant progress: 80 GBV convictions in Bauchi. Ongoing sensitization campaigns using the VAPP law. Creation of a referral pathway for GBV survivors across all 20 LGAs. ✔️ The Bauchi State Disability Network emphasized the accessibility gaps for persons with disabilities, highlighting the need for sign language interpreters in GBV services. Let’s unite to end violence against women and girls by tackling root causes, holding perpetrators accountable, and investing in structural solutions. Together, we can make Bauchi State—and the world—a safer place. #16DaysOfActivism #EndGBV #UNiTE #State2State #GenderEquality #BauchiState

Does citizen engagement matter? Absolutely! When citizens express their needs and priorities, public funds can be directed to the areas that matter most to them. 🗣️💡 In August and September 2024, State2State collaborated with the Ebonyi State Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development and the Local Government Service Commission to conduct consultations on the 2025 budget for Local Government Areas (LGAs). These discussions, targeting four LGAs, enhanced community awareness about participating in the budget process. They suggested over 100 projects for the 2025 budget. 📅🏗️ Review meetings on Nov. 28 and 29, 2024, confirmed that 30 out of 42 needs for Ikwo LGA and 13 out of 30 needs for Ohaozara LGA were included in the proposed budgets. Meetings for the remaining two LGAs (Ebonyi and Abakaliki) will be scheduled soon. Stay tuned! 📊 #community #communityengagement #supportlocal #communitysupport #networking #storytelling #communitydevelopment #budget

💡 Driving Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Through Budgeting! In August, State2State conducted a GESI-Responsive Budgeting (GRB) training for health sector MDAs in Kebbi State. The training focused on identifying gaps in the 2024 health sector budget and developing strategies for a more GESI-responsive 2025 budget. 🚀 Key Commitments from the Training: 🔹 The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Budget pledged to extend GRB training to all MDAs in Kebbi. 🔹 The Deputy Provost, College of Health Technical Jega, committed to advocating sign language interpretation and disability inclusion in the health curriculum. As the CSOs Network Chairman noted: "This training is timely and will significantly enhance the GESI responsiveness of Kebbi's health budget." Together, we’re transforming governance for a more inclusive future. 🌍✨ #16DaysOfActivism #EndGBV #InclusionMatters #GESI #GRB #GovernanceReforms
