🌟 Grateful Beyond Words! 🌟 It's been weeks since the incubation hub's final pitch, and we are yet to share any news. We have been in reflective mode ever since the event. It exposes our strengths and areas for improvement. The takeout point summarized how vulnerability can drive investment into an impact-driven project. We are deeply honored and proud to announce that The Warriors' Project became 2nd runner-up, won half a million naira at the recent pitch competition, and got a full scholarship to the School of Grant Success! 🎉 A huge thank you to Teach For Nigeria for recognizing the importance of our work and believing in our vision to uplift students living with sickle cell disorder in underserved communities. Your support brings us closer to providing these incredible young warriors with better healthcare, education, and emotional well-being. I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to share @TheWarriors'Project The Warriors' Project at the Teach For Nigeria 2024 #IncubationHub Pitch Competition! Our mission is to reduce the burden of sickle cell disorder on students in underserved communities by providing medical support, mentorship, and educational resources to ensure these young warriors thrive. Sickle cell disorder doesn't just affect children; it is a lifelong condition. Oh, I know your why for this assumption. You hardly see sickle cell individuals of ages 65 or more around you. Poor management and support is a major reason for that. How amazing will it be to recognize and support students living with sickle cell in their daily struggle with pain, fatigue, and other symptoms that can be overwhelming, which translate to living longer. Managing sickle cell involves staying hydrated, taking routine medication as prescribed, and avoiding triggers such as stress and extreme temperatures. However, sickle cell crises can occur unexpectedly, which makes it crucial to have a support system in place. With increased awareness, research, and advocacy, we can improve the lives of those living with sickle cell.
