Today, I worked on the design of two key screens for an EdTech app designed to enhance the learning experience through structure and motivation. The first screen is the Course Content Screen, which acts as both an overview and guide for the user’s learning journey. I wanted to ensure clarity right from the start, so the screen provides a course title, a brief description, and a progress bar, giving users an immediate sense of where they are and what’s left to cover. I added important metrics like total video duration, the number of students taking the course, and the number of lessons available. These details give users quick insights into the course’s scope and popularity. But the key thought behind this screen is Progressive learning. The content is sequenced in a way that users can’t skip topics. This ensures they fully engage with each lesson, absorbing the necessary information before moving to the next. It’s designed to prevent users from rushing through material and encourages a steady, focused learning experience. The second screen is the Leaderboard, where the element of gamification shines. Learning can be competitive too, and I wanted to tap into that motivation by adding a leaderboard that shows the top 3 students prominently on a podium, complete with medal icons for that real world sense of achievement. The rest of the students are listed below with an indication of their rank movement, represented by arrows pointing up or down. This design introduces a sense of friendly competition, encouraging users to stay engaged and motivated to perform better, ultimately reinforcing learning consistency. The thought process behind this? I aimed to make the learning experience structured, motivating, and engaging leveraging progress and competition to help users not just learn, but thrive. It’s not just about the content; it’s about the journey of learning and keeping users focused and inspired. By the way, I got the course content titles from LearnlyApp EdTech micro course. You could do well to check them out. #ui #uiux
