🔃 From SLS (MJF) Powder Waste into 3D Printing Filament! Last month, our Materials Specialist Timo van der Laak traveled all the way to Arizona to visit one of our customers, AZ3DPrint - Unconventional Manufacturing Solutions LLC. Stemming from the company's collection of HP MJF printers, AZ3D has collected over 900kg of waste SLS powder over the years. "We didn't want #microplastics going into the ground, so we were looking for a way to reuse it. We spent 3 years searching for a solution. [...] 3devo B.V. were the first to say 'Let's give it a try!'" Following the successful extrusion of AZ3D's SLS powder in our 3devo Innovation Lab, Timo was delighted to visit the AZ3D facility in Tucson to assist with the implementation and onboarding of our Filament Maker ONE machine. There, he met with Rocky Parkerton and Tony Conesa who explained the challenges of the material and the impact of the FM1's success. 🎥 Check out the video below to see how Rocky's team are implementing the extrusion solution into their processes! 🤝 We are so grateful for the opportunity to visit customers and discuss potential solutions together. 💥 3devo B.V. x BigRep - Large-Format 3D Printers Collaboration! In our preparations for Formnext - Where ideas take shape, we were delighted to discover that our neighbors would be BigRep, a leader in large-format #additivemanufacturing solutions. As our new Filament Maker TWO is now capable of producing 3kg spools of filament, we reached out to BigRep to offer a collaboration in which we would produce a large spool of filament ideal for their large-scale printers extruded from their own waste material. ♻️ On the first day of the event, BigRep’s Senior Applications Specialist Michael Eggerdinger carried over a box of Carbon Fiber PLA-based biopolymer parts to the 3devo stand, which our team used demonstrate the GP20 Plastic Shredder throughout the week. 🎇 Formnext 2024 Recap! It's now been almost two weeks since our 3devo B.V. team returned home from Formnext - Where ideas take shape. Now settled back in our Utrecht office, we asked our team to share their top highlights from the event. 🎉 A milestone moment for us at Formnext - Where ideas take shape! 🚀 We are thrilled to share one of the biggest highlights from Formnext 2024: delivering our very first Filament Maker TWO to a customer at the event! This journey began at Formnext 2023, where MSV Studénka discovered our 3devo B.V. filament makers and instantly saw the potential for their ambitious composite material projects. Due to the project’s urgency, the team initially rented our original Filament Maker ONE, collecting the machine from our Utrecht office and taking part in a training session to ensure efficient onboarding. Fast-forward one year, and here we are - handing over the latest innovation right at their booth! 🌟 About the project: MSV Studénka, a forward-thinking Czech company, is pioneering composite research by reinforcing PEEK, PC, and ABS with recycled carbon fibers and other additives. Their mission? To innovate sustainably by using recycled materials like carbon fiber. Now, with the Filament Maker TWO, MSV Studénka is set to unlock new possibilities in composites research.
