✈️🌍 Expanding our network and enhancing Express Services. At Air France KLM Martinair Cargo, we continually adapt our operations to meet our customer’s needs, while prioritising industry-wide efficiency and innovation. Our short and medium-haul network has recently expanded, with new routes and increased service frequency. The AMS-NCE route is now available, and as of 18 November, cargo services have been introduced on existing routes to Wroclaw (WRO) and newly added Gdansk (GDN) in Poland via KL NBB flights. We also aim to boost our operational capabilities through sustained fleet renewal, modernising our fleet with fuel-efficient aircraft such as the KLM Airbus A321neo. This serves to reduce noise levels while at the same time enhancing passenger comfort. As such, we can provide faster, more reliable service for time-sensitive shipments, ensuring that industries including automotive, aerospace, high-tech and e-commerce can depend on our Express Service for critical shipments. Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting the “Fall Celebration 2024" on behalf of SkyTeam Cargo at the Osaka Castle Nishinomaru Garden, Geihinkan. This event marked the first-ever SkyTeam Cargo gathering in Osaka, making the evening even more special. Together with Delta Cargo and Korean Air Cargo, we brought together forwarders, representatives from cargo-related companies, and SkyTeam Cargo colleagues. Anne-Bénédicte Duval (VP Intercontinental Area - AF/KL), Eric Pouille (Key Account Director - AF/KL), John Engelaan (VP Cargo - SkyTeam), and Karen Meijer (SkyTeam) were also present at the event, joining other industry members to mark this special occasion. The evening highlighted the combined strength of our airfreight community and reaffirmed our commitment to growth and connection. In close cooperation with LP ART, specialists in art logistics, and the Musée national Picasso-Paris, we had the honour of transporting Pablo Picasso’s masterpieces for the exceptional “Picasso and Paper” exhibition in Cleveland, organised by the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Royal Academy of Arts, London, in partnership with the Musée national Picasso-Paris. Not only are these works artistic creations; they are priceless treasures of art history. Through our specialised “Art Plus” service, we ensured that each piece received meticulous handling and maximum protection, safeguarding their integrity for future generations. Our partnership with the respective parties embodies our shared commitment to preserving and sharing cultural heritage, while upholding the highest standards of security and conservation. The artworks were transported by a combination of passenger and freighter aircraft, optimising capacity to reduce the number of flights required to complete the shipment. We are delighted to announce that we have reached a significant milestone in our partnership with AIT Worldwide Logistics. Last week, Air France KLM Martinair Cargo finalised an important SAF agreement with AIT. SAF stands for “sustainable aviation fuel”, the term used by our industry to describe an alternative to fossil-based kerosene. We are pleased to announce that our cargo-handling contract with Delta Cargo has been renewed, further strengthening our long-standing partnership within the scope of the Blue Skies Joint Venture. Formalised at Delta Cargo’s Atlanta-based headquarters in the United States, the agreement was signed by Koen Bolster, VP Worldwide Operations at KLM Cargo and Vishal Bhatnagar Director of Global Cargo Operations at Delta Cargo, reinforcing our shared commitment to excellence. This marks an important step towards delivering optimal quality and operational synergies, enabling us to better serve our customers seamlessly on both sides of the Atlantic. Connecting Salvador de Bahia to Paris!✈️ This winter, we’re excited to be launching direct service between Salvador de Bahia (SSA) and Paris (CDG)! Our inaugural flight was operated just a few days ago, marking a milestone for our Brazilian operations and creating new opportunities to connect local products with global markets. We proudly brought a taste of Bahia to Europe and supported local producers by delivering fresh Brazilian mangoes on our first flight. From the North Sea to Houston; delivering more than just cargo!✈️🐢 In October 2023, an adventurous little Kemp’s ridley sea turtle took a detour through the chilly waters of the North Sea, and Diergaarde Blijdorp (Blijdorp Zoo) was kind enough to offer it a warm welcome. But like all great explorers, it was time for this turtle to go home. With care and efficiency, we safely returned our flippered friend to the sunny shores of Houston. At AFKLMP Cargo, we deliver more than just goods – sometimes, we deliver dreams (and the occasional turtle). Because we are here to connect, whether it’s people, goods, or even a wayward sea turtle!
