Hyundai Motor Company (현대자동차) has hinted at a potential IPO for its US-based robotics unit, Boston Dynamics, but no timeline has been confirmed yet. Lee Seung-jo from Hyundai said they are open-minded about the IPO but have not reviewed it in the short term. Hyundai acquired Boston Dynamics in 2021, and despite its financial losses, the company remains committed to robotics development. Recycle Track Systems (RTS) raises over $40 million to enhance AI innovation and expand sustainable waste solutions in North America. Researchers in Germany have used AI to find new perovskite materials for more efficient solar cells. The team at KIT’s Institute of Nanotechnology and the Helmholtz-Institut Erlangen-Nürnberg für Erneuerbare Energien found a material with a near-record conversion efficiency of 26.2%. Kodiak Robotics has delivered its first driverless trucks to Atlas Energy Solutions. Atlas started using the autonomous trucks in West Texas's Permian Basin, completing 100 deliveries without human drivers. Kodiak's CEO, Don Burnette, said this is the first time a customer owns and operates the driverless vehicles, which they believe is the future model. Kodiak aims to sell its AI Driver-as-a-Solution rather than running its own shipping operations. Qdrant has launched a GPU-accelerated vector indexing capability. This new feature aims to make scaling AI applications easier by optimizing vector index building, which is crucial for generative AI and large language models.
