What a great discussion Sjoerd just had with the leading ancillary revenue experts Jay Sorensen and Michael Smith! ✨ It's no surprise that ancillary revenue is becoming a big portion of airlines' total revenue and eSIMs are shaping up to be a valuable contributor. 📈 Here are our takeaways from this session: • Ancillary revenue has been a lifeline for #airlines in recent years, contributing significantly to their financial stability. • When it comes to choices, less is more. Overwhelming consumers with too many options often backfires. • #eSIMs should be easy and simple for customers to purchase, making the travel experience one to look forward to and not overcomplicate it. • Airlines have multiple touchpoints to promote #ancillary products like eSIMs, including post-booking emails, pre-departure communications, and in-flight opportunities. • To build or to buy an eSIM solution? Both have pros and cons and the choice boils down to what the objective is. But quick market entry and faster monetization are key advantages of buying over building.
