That's what we call teamwork. This week, AMS Barging successfully executed a double-bunker operation. Two of our barges, Nazar and Lotus, joined forces to fuel a seagoing vessel in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. Igor Jansen attended the subsidy awards 'Zeeland in Stroomversnelling'. During this event, AMS Barging was granted a part of this subsidy for our new innovative newbuild project. The subsidy stimulates the adoption of alternative and sustainable fuels on the waters of Zeeland. The AMS project focuses on developing an advanced propulsion system designed for sustainable fuels such as HVO100, methanol and hydrogen. A key innovation is the integration of an ultra-low NOx aftertreatment system and an innovative Power Management System (PMS). This setup significantly reduces harmful emissions, such as NOx and CO2. For Zeeland, this means economic growth, new job opportunities, and a major step towards sustainable inland shipping and improved air quality. The year 2025 has just begun and AMS Barging is already up and running! What an eventful start to the year it has been. First, our crew on board the MTS Copenhagen experienced an interesting voyage en route to Liège. Strong water currents caused a slight delay in our schedule, with peak flows reaching about 2000 cubic meters per second - nearly three times the rate considered a strong current (700 cubic meters per second). View the video on our website: https://lnkd.in/eSS_qMgx Meanwhile, a milestone was reached on the shipyard where two newbuilds are under construction, as the first steel plates were installed! These two barges will be leading our fleet regarding sustainability. It's exciting to see the progress, and we can't wait to see the vessels in action. Finally, our newest fleet addition, MTS Amethist, is ready to get back in the water after undergoing technical upgrades and design changes. The barge is being transformed into a typical AMS vessel.
