Meet Bram van Mastricht, our planner and recruiter. While being exposed to the world of inland shipping on a young age through his father, he started working in the maritime industry when he just turned 18 years old. Now at AMS Barging, he can do what he loves the most: helping crew members and looking for new talent on board. In an interview, Bram talks about how he joined AMS Barging, what his activities are within the team, and his experiences. "You get the chance to be involved in other processes. AMS Barging is ready for the holidays. Our crew has worked hard all year, supported by the dedicated team in the office. Before we head home to celebrate Christmas, our two co-founders, Igor and Ton, have a special message for the entire crew and team: Igor Jansen: "I am incredibly grateful to see how our fleet is growing. We have been able to add several wonderful colleagues to the AMS Barging team, both on the barges and onshore. There is a positive vibe within the organization that has made me look forward to going to work every day in 2024, and I am confident that 2025 will be a great and successful year. The 'Back-up Belgian' at AMS Barging. That's how our new QHSSE Superintendent, Jochen Reynaert, describes himself. With Jochen, the love for the maritime world runs deep - and it shows! His passion for the maritime industry started at an early stage. A visit to a shipyard as a young boy gave him a clear goal: This is my future. After completing his studies as a Helmsman in inland shipping, Jochen worked on board of vessels but felt there was something more. At age 24, he began combining onboard work with an office role, gaining valuable insights into the inland shipping sector while also assisting in shipbuilding projects. After nearly nine years of experience, Jochen found his new challenge at AMS Barging - a match made at the Schippersbeurs in Gorinchem. The words that convinced him? "We do things a bit differently compared to the rest." Jochen is already making an impact in our QHSSE team. His motto is "Turn your hobby into your profession.
