💡 Here's an idea: What if IDEO U (or IDEO) partnered with EHL to train the next generation of hoteliers? I contend that the fields of innovation and technology are either underinvested in or overlooked entirely within hotel management education.
Firstly, IDEO U excels in innovation and design thinking. They adeptly transform challenges and moments of inspiration into groundbreaking ideas. Incorporating IDEO U's creative approach into EHL's hospitality curriculum would enable students to tackle industry issues creatively.
Secondly, envision students engaging in hands-on projects, such as reimagining hotel lobbies or pioneering new sustainable tourism concepts. This combination would be akin to a fusion of Shark Tank and The Grand Budapest Hotel - both entertaining and educational, steering clear of the stagnation that currently afflicts our industry.
A partnership between IDEO U and EHL could represent a perfect synergy in the classroom. Here's to embracing innovative thinking - or rather, thinking outside the hotel room.
PS: I have not inquired whether such a collaboration is already in progress, nor have I explored whether other programs are implementing similar initiatives. However, both organizations are at the forefront of their respective fields, and their collaboration could be interesting.
PPS: I would be eager to participate in a brainstorming session on the future of hospitality management education, to ensure our industry is equipped with talent ready to meet future challenges. Meanwhile, I highly recommend IDEO U's courses for their excellence.
