It’s at the heart of climate resilience, biodiversity, food security, energy access, and poverty alleviation. 💡 The challenge is urgent. 🌍💧 We are excited to share that  the Water Access Acceleration Fund (W2AF) has invested €3 million in SPOUTS International, a pioneering East African social enterprise improving access to #safedrinkingwater in #Uganda and #Rwanda. With W2AF’s support, SPOUTS will expand its reach across East Africa and grow its carbon credit programme, driving both water access and climate impact. 💡 Since 2014, SPOUTS has been producing and distributing "Purifaaya" ceramic water filters—an affordable and sustainable solution that provides safe drinking water without the need for boiling. This reduces dependency on firewood and charcoal, conserving resources, cutting household costs, and reducing carbon emissions. 📊 The impact so far:  ✅ Over 740,000 people served  ✅ 1.3 million litres of safe drinking water delivered daily  ✅ 1 million tonnes of carbon emissions avoided 👏 Congratulations to the Incofin Investment Management team for this milestone! We ’re proud to contribute to W2AF by providing catalytic first-loss capital and technical assistance to the fund and its investees. Last Friday, 8 November 2024, Co-operative Bank of Kenya, Aqua for All, Water.org and the Water & Sanitation Provider Association (WASPA) announced a three-year partnership to unlock commercial financing for public water infrastructure projects, with a focus on last-mile connectivity and other essential services. This collaboration aims to drive funding for medium-sized #water sector projects, marking a significant step forward in expanding and improving water services across Kenya. The initiative is expected to provide substantial benefits to Water Service Providers (WSPs) and increase access to essential water infrastructure. Through this partnership, Co-operative Bank of Kenya will receive support to disburse KES 500 million, financing at least 15 water infrastructure projects.
