Very happy to have been able to help Battolyser Systems, the Dutch electrolyser manufacturer with battery functionality, with its €30 million in Series A funding from Global Cleantech Capital, Innovation Industries, and Invest-NL This transaction marks the second € double digit million growth equity transaction for Beekers Capital in 2024, and transaction number 12 (!) since our maiden deal exactly 2 years ago Many thanks to my partner-in-crime Koen Derks who led the charge originating and closing the first Series A tranche of €15m as well as the €40m European Investment Bank (EIB) financing agreement last year, after which I took over the baton this year to bring the second Series A tranche of €15m to a close. Yesterday, I dabbled into teaching for the first time ever.. and I have to say I really loved it! VC Whale Academy invited me to provide a full-day hands-on interactive financial modeling deep-dive session curated to junior VC investors. I put the participants from VC firms including Inkef, Rubio Impact Ventures, Slingshot Ventures, SHIFT Invest, DFF (Dutch Founders Fund), CapitalT, InnovationQuarter, The Sharing Group and World Fund on the grill and made sure we built a fully flexible SaaS focused financial model together - from scratch! In my opinion, you learn the most by immersing yourself and actually doing the subject you want to learn. Mistakes, frustrations and all. Looking at the concentrated faces, questions for me, and cooperation between participants throughout the session, I think we succeeded in making the course hands-on and interactive.
