Bollegraaf tire baler at ALIAPUR – 3x the throughput, from 500 to 1500 tonnes a month! Aliapur is the biggest French tire collection and recycling network. It processes over 400,000 tonnes of end-of-life tires (ELT) every year. Aliapur replaced two manual balers with one Bollegraaf HBC80 pre-press baler to keep up with the demand of its waste processors and recyclers, optimizing its loads and improving its carbon footprint. Franck RETAILLEAU, operations manager at Aliapur, listed the advantages of switching to a Bollegraaf baler: 1. Higher throughput; from 500 to 1500 tonnes a month. 2. Increased operational flexibility 3. Easier operation for operators Aliapur also signed a multi-year full-service maintenance contract with us for the upkeep and the yearly check-up (VGP). October 10th marked the official opening of Zoomlion Ghana Ltd.’s Integrated Recycling and Compost Plant (IRECOP) and Medical Waste Treatment Facility in Mankessim, Ghana. This facility marks another link in a chain of new sorting facilities across Ghana. It will process and recycle medical and municipal solid waste for various purposes. The organic fraction will be used as compost for local agriculture. Manufacturers will use the metal and plastic fractions to create new products. The hazardous components of the medical waste will be removed and then properly treated for reuse. During the opening, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies, emphasized the increasing value of waste, stating, “Waste is no longer disposable; it has become a valuable resource.” In addition to being a sustainable alternative for waste in the region, this facility will create over 700 local job opportunities.
