VIVOLTA now has the exclusive contract with Neurochas to manufacture electrospun microcatheters, which deliver advanced central nervous system (CNS) therapies to the brain. 🧠 🌎 Neurochase’s CNS drug delivery platform could improve the lives of nearly one billion people affected by neurological disorders in the U.S. and Europe. THAT'S ambition. Great article about our portfolio company, CarbonX, and their most recent funding round in Innovation Origins IO+. ⬇ The article talks about the €4 million raised by the company in December. The company's goals with this money? 👉 The company plans to secure feedstock, increase battery testing capacity and prepare for a facility in the port of Rotterdam. 🔋 China is the source for the majority of graphite for global battery manufacturing, but CarbonX has developed an innovative solution. It uses emulsion feedstock technology to locally produce carbon anode material at similar costs to China, yet with lower CO2 emissions. 🌱💸 Plus the material's 3D network structure boosts battery performance. With a team of 15 people, the company had an eventful 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣4️⃣. “We received the validation we were seeking from our customers and developed our technology further. Considering the standard for battery development, I think what we achieved in these 12 months was extraordinary,” said Co-Founder and CEO Rutger Van Raalten. “In the coming year, we will focus all of our efforts on helping the existing customers towards supply agreements and prepare for the next funding round—worth €25 million—which we expect to close in the first quarter of 2026,” Rutger continued. "Women are controlling more and more global wealth. Today, they control a third of global wealth," says Ida Liu, Global Head of Citi Private Bank, in a recent video posted by Bloomberg. In the next five years, this percentage will increase and women will control over 5️⃣0️⃣% of the global wealth market. 💰📈 This shift is part of the largest wealth transfer in history with $100 trillion passing to next gen and millennials over the next decade. We are excited to share how CarbonX is breaking into the South Korean market and how it is sharing its success story with other Dutch #entrepreneurs looking to follow in its footsteps. 👣 Daniela Sordi, co-founder and CTO of CarbonX, was one of two entrepreneurs recently featured in a profile about how Dutch startups are entering the South Korean market. 🔋 China is the source for the majority of graphite for global battery manufacturing, but CarbonX has developed an innovative solution. It uses emulsion feedstock technology to locally produce carbon anode material at similar costs to China, yet with lower CO2 emissions. 🌱💸 Plus the material's 3D network structure boosts battery performance. The startup strategically chose 📍 South Korea because of its concentration of top cell manufacturers and potential clients. Leveraging conferences and a Dutch trade mission to South Korea, the team was able to initially engage with and then secure customers. However, frequent trips are necessary and it was not all smooth sailing. ✈ Daniela mentioned a number of challenges (and tips) of entering the Korean market that can also be applied to other markets: 🗣 Communication can be difficult due to language differences 🤝 Securing an agent and establishing effective distribution channels are critical but also challenging 👪 You need to know locals 🔗 Understand logistics and local supply chain dynamics "I have learned the importance of adaptability in a constantly changing business landscape. You need to listen to your clients. Building strong relationships with customers, the supply chain and the team is vital, you have to be there to build trust," says Daniela about lessons she has learned.
